Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has spoken openly for the first time on the Ankita Bhandari murder case of Uttarakhand. CM Dhami said that as soon as I got information about this, we took action and arrested the three accused. A SIT was formed under a woman IPS and under her leadership, investigation was done on all aspects and all the persons were talked to.
CM Dhami said that P Renuka Devi was leading him and is currently working in CBI. SIT worked on all aspects and people said that something more should be added to it. He said that whoever has to give information should give it to the SIT or to the court. Strong advocacy was done and the accused were sentenced to life imprisonment.

Our track record has been that whoever is guilty will not be spared – CM Dhami

CM Dhami said that recently an audio has surfaced and investigation is being done for that also. It is our effort to bring out some truth by talking to those who have spoken in the audio. Our track record assures you that whoever is guilty will not go free. In the audio, names are being taken that they will make one person the president and maybe tomorrow they will take someone else’s name. In the name of audio, instead of using PC in Dehradun, they use PC in Delhi.

In one audio they are saying that a murder has taken place and in the other they are saying that he has committed suicide, so what can be considered as truth. Will talk to Ankita’s parents- CM Dhami

Public anger over the famous Ankita Bhandari murder case of Uttarakhand does not seem to be stopping now. On Sunday, the entire opposition surrounded the CM residence. Along with political parties, a large number of common people also participated in this movement. During this, the angry people broke the barricading and moved forward, but were stopped before the next barricading by the heavy police force present at the spot.

During this, only one slogan was heard – ‘Give justice to Ankita Bhandari’ and ‘Disclose the name of VIP.’ During this time, people protested in different ways and expressed their anger that if CBI investigation is not done in Ankita murder case, then this anger will become more fierce.

A police officer associated with the famous Ankita Bhandari murder case on January 3, 2026 in Haridwar, Dehradun, clarified on Saturday that there was no VIP in this case. Haridwar Superintendent of Police (Rural) Shekhar Suyal told reporters that the ‘VIP’ whose name was taken in the chat of the accused and in the interrogation of Ankita’s friend, was Dharmendra Kumar alias Pradhan, a resident of Noida and he is not any VIP.

He said, during the investigation, the police reached Dharmendra and during his interrogation it was found that two days before Ankita’s murder, he had come to the area for some work and had stayed for some time to have food at Vanantra Resort. Superintendent of Police, Suyal said that this was confirmed in the records of the resort and interrogation of the employees.

Sanawar’s allegation – BJP leader involved in murder case

Recently, a video of actress Urmila Sanawar, who claimed to be the wife of former state MLA Suresh Rathore, went viral on social media. In which there was mention of a VIP in the Ankita murder case. The audio and video of Sanawar’s alleged conversation with Rathore also went viral. Which has created an earthquake in the politics of Uttarakhand. Sanawar has alleged that the VIPs are involved in the Ankita murder case. He is a leader of BJP named Gattu. He has mentioned the name of Gattu in another video. After which Suyal said, keeping in mind Sanawar’s claim, this statement is very important.

Congress demanded investigation from CBI

After this revelation, Congress is demanding that the entire episode be investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) under the supervision of a sitting or retired judge of the Supreme Court. At the time of the Ankita murder case in the year 2022, Suyal was posted as Additional Superintendent of Police of Pauri district. Later, Suyal was also a member of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) formed to investigate this murder case.

Ankita bhandari case verdict: In the Ankita Bhandari murder case in Uttarakhand, the court has convicted Pulkit Arya, Saurabh Bhaskar and Ankit Gupta and sentenced them to life imprisonment. Ankita’s killers were announced after the sentence was announced. He said that we hoped that the accused would be hanged. But, Ankita’s soul would have been relieved to some extent from the punishment he has received.

In the Ankita murder case, the court ruled 160 pages on Friday. After which the eyes of Ankita’s murderers could be seen clearly. A total of 236 evidence was presented in the court. There was a testimony from the defense and nine evidences were kept in the court. After hearing the debate of both the parties, the court on Friday wrote this decision in a total of 160 pages in the case, after the decision, the discussion of this murder has started again across the state.

Two years 8 months hearing
Please tell that during the proceedings in the court for about two years and eight months in the Ankita Bhandari murder case, 47 witnesses were testified. In this case, the SIT, formed by the state government, filed a total charge sheet of 500 pages in the court on 16 December, in which 97 witnesses were made at that time, while the prosecution of 47 witnesses in the court was presented by the prosecution, relative to this, a total of four witnesses were presented in favor of the accused.

Documents presented by both sides

A total of 130 documentary evidence etc. were presented in the court in the case on behalf of the prosecution. Along with this, 106 items evidence was shown in the court. As far as rescue is concerned, on their behalf, nine documentary evidence in this case wanted to prove the innocence of the accused by keeping the court. However, on the strength of prosecution and the strength of these evidence, the court convicted the three accused and sentenced them to life imprisonment.

In this case, more than 30 Nazers of the Supreme Court and High Court were presented by rescue and prosecution, including some law and order, in which 20 decisions were presented by prosecution as Nazir. On behalf of the same defense, more than 10 such Nazir and trusting the law and system, argued before the court. However, Nazir, presented by the prosecution, was seen emphasizing their facts.

After this decision, Ankita’s father and mother said that we had expected that the accused would be sentenced to death, but the sentence that the court has sentenced will make our daughter’s soul feel relaxed to some extent. In this case, the accused has an option to go to the High Court in which appeals can be made on behalf of the accused. All political parties and social organizations have expressed satisfaction over the court’s decision.
