Huge jump in crime figures: Citing official figures, the MP said that the graph of crimes in the state is increasing rapidly. A total of 17,385 cases were registered across the state in the year 2025, while in 2024 the number was 16,393, which shows an increase of more than 6% in the total crimes. The most frightening situation is regarding women’s safety and drug addiction. There has been a record increase of 28% in drug trafficking cases, where 1,967 cases were registered in 2025 compared to 1,537 cases in 2024.

‘Law and order completely collapsed’

MP Anurag Thakur said that there has been an increase of 19.02% in rape cases (from 305 to 363 cases) and 17.7% increase in kidnapping incidents has also been recorded. He said in strong words, “Criminals are committing crimes without any fear and are playing the flute of peace under the influence of responsible power. The spate of criminal incidents in Himachal is an open challenge to the Iqbal government.”
