According to intelligence sources, after recent international incidents and ‘Operation Vermillion’, many big cities of India are the target of terrorist organizations. According to reports, Delhi’s major markets, malls, religious places and destinations for foreign tourists have been considered potentially sensitive areas.

Danger increased due to activity of Khalistani organizations in Punjab

Meanwhile, the threat of terrorist attacks has also increased in Punjab. Security agencies fear that Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI is planning IED blasts in collaboration with Khalistani terrorist network. Sources say that police posts and security positions are the target of terrorists.

New game of provocation on social media

Intelligence inputs also show that the terror network is now using social media in a new way. Many fake accounts operating from Pakistan and Bangladesh are engaged in spreading religious incitement and rumours. The purpose of these posts is said to be to spoil the atmosphere and spread instability during festivals.

Strict surveillance in Delhi

Delhi Police has tightened security arrangements at all markets, metro, railway stations, bus stands and religious places. Policemen in plain clothes have been deployed and continuous investigation operations are being conducted in sensitive areas. Joint checking by the police of Delhi and neighboring states has also been intensified in the border areas.

Appeal to people to be cautious

Delhi Police has appealed to the common citizens to immediately inform the police about any suspicious person, vehicle or object. It has been advised to get verification of tenants and domestic helpers done. Besides, cyber and social media cells are constantly keeping an eye on suspicious online activities.

Amidst the hustle and bustle of festivals, security agencies are prepared to deal with any situation. Officers say that this is not the time for carelessness, but for vigilance. Every police station has been instructed to remain active up to the beat level and report any suspicious activity immediately.
