Air India has integrated Apple Airtag in its baggage-tracking system and mobile app, so that passengers with iPhone, iPad or Mac devices can easily track their check-in goods. The airline said that Asia is the first airline to provide this type of facility. The company said that it manages more than 100 million baggage items annually, out of which 99.6 percent of baggage arrives to passengers on time. Airtag will help accelerate integration recovery for some baggage delayed due to airport problems or missed flights. Let us know about it in detail.

Tracking easy

Air India said that the My Trips section of the passenger mobile app, the track My Bags tab on its website or the barcode on your baggage response can track your bag in real time.

How to use airtag on losing bags

First of all, the passengers have to report lost baggage, if the airtag’s baggage does not reach the fixed dnestination, the passengers should report it to the Air India baggage counter. Staff will help passengers to file Popurti Ireguulatory Report (PIR). Generate the share item location link in the Apple Find My App and provide it to Air India. Go to the customer support portal and select the baggage and then select the Lost and Found check-in baggage and include the link.

Go to the customer support portal, select the Lost and Found check-in baggage and submit the link with the PIR number. Passengers will get an analyzment email with a link to track baggage from Air India. Air India’s Autorized Airport Team will use shared airtag data to detect the bag, if it is inside the airport premises and will return it as soon as possible.

Air India said that privacy will be noticed first. On getting the bag, the location sharing automatically stops and ends after 7 days. Apart from this, passengers can close it at the manual level at any time. The airline said that this feature requires iOS 18.2, iPados 18.2 or MACOS 15.2 or subsequent apple devices.
