iPhone Price Hike: The prices of mobile phones have been continuously increasing for the last few months. Many companies including Samsung and Xiaomi have increased the prices of their smartphones. Till now it seemed that Apple could avoid the price hike and would launch the iPhone 18 and iPhone 18 Pro models at the same prices as the iPhone launched last year, but now Tim Cook himself has dashed these hopes. Apple CEO said that the prices of storage and memory chips are increasing rapidly, due to which the increase in the prices of iPhone cannot be avoided.

Cook said this regarding the prices of iPhone

In an interview, Cook said that the price hike cannot be stopped. Till now we were managing the burden coming on us and were trying to save the customers from this, but now the situation cannot be handled. Although Cook did not mention the iPhone 18 model in his statement, it is believed that along with the iPhone, the iPad will also be affected by the rising prices and customers will have to pay more to buy them.

How expensive can the new iPhones be?

According to reports, to maintain its current profit margin, Apple will have to increase the price of iPhone 18 Pro by about Rs 25,000-30,000. Apple decides the prices of iPhone according to storage. Apple had paid $39 (about Rs 3700) for 12GB RAM in a model of iPhone 17 Pro, but for the same amount of RAM in the iPhone 18 Pro model, it has to pay about Rs 14,000. Talking about the base model, the storage price can increase from $ 13 (approximately Rs 1228) to $ 51 (approximately Rs 4820).

How much did Apple’s costs increase?

Apple had to spend $ 530 (about Rs 50,000) for parts and manufacturing of iPhone 17 Pro. Now due to increase in the prices of memory chips, the manufacturing cost of iPhone 18 Pro model will cost the company $ 726 (about Rs 69,000). Apart from this, Apple will also provide an upgraded camera system in the new iPhone, due to which the price may go up a little further. According to the report, Apple’s margin on the iPhone 17 Pro model was 47 percent. Accordingly, considering the cost, company’s profit margin and Apple’s pricing strategy, the price of iPhone 18 Pro can be $ 1399 (approximately Rs 1,32,244) in America. This price will go up further after including taxes and other things in India.
