Whereas now the same phone is prepared in India or China for $ 1,000 (₹ 85,000). Will American customers pay such an expensive price? ‘

Girbane also told that at present, a large part of Apple’s manufacturing, about 80%, is in China and it provides employment to about 50 lakh people there. Apple’s purpose to increase construction in India is to reduce dependence on China, not snatching work from America.

Apple will have to leave India expensive

Telecom Equipment Manufacturers Association (Tema) Chairman N.K. Goyal said, ‘Apple has made iphones worth ₹ 1.75 lakh crore from India in the last one year. He has three manufacturing plants in India and two more planning. In such a situation, if Apple goes out of India, then they may have to face heavy losses.

Goyal also informed that trade rules are constantly changing worldwide and important-export taxes are also increasing. In such a situation, it will not be prudent for Apple to leave India.

How important is Apple for India?

Former KPMG partner Jaideep Ghosh said, ‘Apple’s ecosystem is very important for India. If the company goes out of India in a long time, then it will directly affect the economy and employment of the country. It is not easy to create iPhone in America because there is too much labor cost.

If iPhone is made in India, everyone is in profit

The opinion of experts is absolutely clear, making iPhone in India is also cheaper for the company and also beneficial for consumers. If the iPhone is made in America, then the price can touch the sky, which will neither be happy nor will Apple’s earnings increase. Now it has to be seen what decision Apple and the US government take on this, but at the moment India remains a better option to create an iPhone.

About 300 to 500 iPhone units can be produced in the plot. According to media reports, the iPhone 16 and 16E will be produced in it.

According to reports, the plant is expected to be fully operated by December 2027. When this plant will run with full capacity, then about 50 thousand new jobs are being estimated to produce. However, Tata has not made any kind of comment on this. On the other hand, the plant is also being prepared at a cost of $ 2.6 billion of FoxConn of Taifan and production will start soon in the coming days.

Apple shifting India

Significantly, the total global production of iPhone is currently made in China, while only 18 percent production is being done in India. Taking steps, Apple has decided to prepare all the iPhones sold in the US in Indian factories by the end of 2026.
