Shivani Verma (around 25 years), a teacher at Kanhaili Middle School, was shot dead while going to school in Araria on Wednesday (December 03, 2025) morning. On Friday (December 05, 2025), the police made a big revelation in this murder case. Also, three accused including the shooter have been arrested. A woman is also included in this.

Police investigation has revealed that a teacher from another school was to be murdered but Shivani was murdered by mistake. The conspiracy of the murder was hatched by a woman from Forbesganj. Shivani was a resident of Barabanki, UP. She was going to school on scooter. Meanwhile, two miscreants riding a bike shot him near Kanhaili Shiv Temple. After the incident, SIT was formed to investigate. Now the police has got success. The pistol and a bike used in the murder have been seized.

Betel nut was given for three lakh rupees

Among those arrested was Mohd. Maroof and Mohd. This is Sohail. The woman who ordered the murder is Hushn alias Hushn. All of them are residents of Forbesganj police station area of ​​Araria. The woman had given contract for murder for three lakh rupees. Raids are being conducted to arrest other accused involved in the incident.

The arrested accused told the whole story

The accused Mohd. was arrested during interrogation in this entire case. Maroof told that Hushn Ara (husband- Mohd. Sakir, Police Station- Forbesganj) suspected her husband to have an illicit relationship with a female teacher from Narpatganj who taught in a primary school. For this reason, Hushn Ara, along with Raja and Chhotu, had conspired to kill a female teacher who was having illicit relations with her husband.

Raja and Chhotu gave contract to Maroof and Sohail for three lakh rupees to carry out the murder. During the betel nut itself, the name of the female teacher, the scooter, the route to pass and the time were told. Maroof and Sohail had done Reiki a day before to carry out the incident. The place was decided. As soon as the female teacher Shivani Verma was going on a scooter on Wednesday, the miscreants considered her their target and shot her. After this they ran away. The commuting route of the identified female teacher and Shivani was the same. Both of them used the scooter to go to and from school.

History of Muslim representation in Bihar

The history of Muslim representation in Bihar has been full of ups and downs. In the 1985 elections, the maximum number of 34 Muslim MLAs were elected, but at that time elections were held on a total of 324 seats in United Bihar. In contrast, in 2005, only 16 Muslim MLAs could win.

A total of 19 Muslim MLAs were elected in the 2020 elections of 243 seats in Bihar, which included 8 from RJD, 4 from Congress, 5 from AIMIM, 1 from CPI(ML) and 1 from BSP.

If we look at history, in the first assembly elections of 1951-52, 24 Muslims became MLAs. After this, 25 MLAs were elected in 1957, 21 in 1962, 18 in 1967, 19 in 1969, 25 each in 1972 and 1977, 28 in 1980 and 34 in 1985.

Voting for the second and final phase of Bihar assembly elections has started. In this phase, more than 3 crore 70 lakh voters will decide the fate of 1302 candidates on 122 seats. Among them, many ministers of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s government are also in the fray.

On Tuesday, there was some decrease in the temperature of the state. The capital Patna fell by eight degrees to a maximum temperature of 35 degrees Celsius. The highest temperature was 38 degrees Celsius in Motihari. At number two was Farbisganj where the maximum temperature was 37.2 degrees Celsius. The average temperature of the state was close to 35 degrees.

There was no rain in any district during the day on Tuesday. There was very light rain in some places in the morning. According to the report released on Tuesday afternoon, Muzaffarpur received 7.6 mm, East Champaran 3.8 and Sitamarhi 2.8 mm.

Which district of Bihar has the highest rainfall?

On Tuesday, many districts including Patna received rain, due to which the temperature dropped. The maximum rainfall was recorded at 117.4 mm in Kishanganj, while Araria received 95 mm, Khagaria 80.4 mm, Samastipur 78.4 mm and Begusarai received 68.4 mm of rainfall. Apart from this, Purnia recorded 62.2 mm, 52.6 mm in Siwan and 50.8 mm in Fatuha in Patna district.

Floods, Bakhtiyarpur, Pandarak, Daniyavan and Atmalgola also received moderate levels. Aurangabad, Madhepura, Nalanda and Rohtas recorded 30 to 50 mm of rainfall. At the same time, Vaishali, Bhojpur, Jamui, Banka, Madhubani, Supaul, Muzaffarpur, Shivhar and Gaya districts received light to moderate rains.

There is no possibility of any major change in temperature for the next five days

Along with the rain, the temperature also saw a drop. On Tuesday, the capital Patna recorded a temperature of 2.3 degrees to 32.4 degrees Celsius. North Bihar recorded the biggest decline, while the maximum temperature in the state was 34.5 degrees Celsius in Motihari.

In most districts, the temperature was between 31 and 32 degrees Celsius. According to the Meteorological Department, there is no possibility of any major change in temperature for the next five days.

The fall in rain and temperature has given relief to the people from the heat, but the Meteorological Department has appealed to be cautious in view of lightning and strong winds.
