Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi on Tuesday (January 13, 2026) gave a strong message to Pakistan and said that Operation Sindoor is still going on and any audacity of the enemy will be dealt with appropriately. Elaborating on different aspects of Operation Sindoor, General Dwivedi said it helped reframe the strategic thinking as the Indian Army struck deep to dismantle the terror infrastructure and teach a lesson to Islamabad’s long-standing nuclear rhetoric.

Army was ready for ground attacks on Pakistan: General Dwivedi

He said, ‘As you would be aware, Operation Sindoor is still going on and any future misadventure will be responded to strongly.’ General Dwivedi said that this operation, which showcased the coordination of the three armies, was India’s thoughtful and strong response to cross-border terrorism, which shows preparedness, precision and strategic clarity. He also said that the Indian Army had mobilized its troops and was ready for ground attacks on Pakistan.

Operation Sindoor still going on: Army Chief

General Dwivedi said, ‘The situation on the northern front is stable, but there is a need to keep a constant watch. The situation is gradually becoming normal due to renewed contacts and trust building measures. He said that Operation Sindoor is still going on and any misadventure in future will be responded to strictly. Regarding Operation Sindoor, he said that through 22 minutes of intense action on May 7, 2025 and an 88-hour coordinated campaign that continued till May 10, this operation redefined strategic beliefs. Deep attacks were made on the terrorist structure.

‘Army has kept an eye on the terrorist camp located in Pakistan’

He said, ‘In those 88 hours, you saw that the mobilization of the army to expand the conventional military area was such that if Pakistan made any mistake, we were fully prepared to launch ground action.’ Camps still exist in Pakistani occupied areas adjacent to the Indian border. The Indian Army is keeping an eye on them and will take action if needed.

General Upendra Dwivedi said, ‘As per our knowledge, about 8 camps are still active. Of these, 2 are opposite the international border and 6 are opposite the Line of Control. There is still a presence on these campuses. We are keeping an eye on them, if any action is taken then we will definitely take the action as per our intention.

After revelations of major damage to the Pakistani Air Force in Operation Sindoor, Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi has taken a major sarcasm at Pakistan’s Army Chief Field (Fled) Marshal Aseem Munir. According to General Dwivedi, Pakistan may have lost to India but every Pakistani believes that because Munir has got the title of Field Marshal, Pakistan has won.

Addressing an event in IIT Madras (Chennai), General Dwivedi said that “If you ask a Pakistani whether you have lost or won, they will say that our Chief Field Marshall has become, that is, we must have won, only then they have become field marshals.”

5 fighter jets were destroyed in Operation Sindoor

On Saturday, Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal AP Singh revealed at an event held in Bangalore that India had killed five fighters of Pakistan during Operation Sindoor. Apart from this, the aircraft associated with a large reconnaissance (or electronic intelligence) was also killed. According to the Air Force chief, all these Pakistani aircraft were recently killed by the S-400 missile system.

According to Air Chief Marshal, this is the first time in the history of military aviation that an aircraft has been killed in the sky 300 km away. This is the reason why S-400 is being considered as a game-changer.

Where did Pakistan suffer losses?

Air Chief Singh also informed that some F-16 fighter jets were also damaged in the attack on Pakistan Air Force’s Zakokabad airbase during Operation Sindoor. Apart from this, a C-130 Military Transport Aircraft was damaged in the Indian Air Force attack. Besides, two (02) Command and Control Center (Sargodha and Noor Khan Airbase), six (06) radar systems and three (03) hangers (including Jokokabad) were also destroyed.
