The three Indian armies are exercising in the name of Operation Trishul in Jaisalmer, the desert area of ​​Rajasthan adjacent to the India-Pakistan border. On the 11th day of this 12-day exercise, the Indian Army conducted a huge exercise ‘Maru Jwala’. Let us tell you that this operation is considered to be the biggest joint exercise of the three armies since ‘Sindoor’.

Enemy targets identified with drones during exercise
Under the Operation Trishul exercise, units of the three armies, Army, Air Force and Navy, demonstrated united attacks on terrorist hideouts and enemy posts. During the exercise, enemy positions were identified using drones and nearby villages were evacuated. Helicopters provided cover fire to T-90 tanks, while AI-enabled drones and robotic mules delivered weapons and first aid to the troops.

During this time, tanks, cannons, helicopters and fighter jets were seen in action together in the sea of ​​sand. The exercise was led by Lieutenant General Dheeraj Seth, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Command. He described it as a living example of the Army’s “JAI Mantra” of Jointness, Atmanirbharta and Innovation. Through ‘Maru Jwala’, indigenous weapons, communication systems and counter-drone technologies were tested in harsh sandy conditions. This exercise was not only a show of strength, but also proved the joint action and technical self-reliance of the Indian forces in modern warfare.

Southern Command led the exercise
Along with the tanks of the mechanized and armored corps of the Army, the fighter jets of the Air Force also showed their strength. This exercise was led by the Southern Command. Lieutenant General Dheeraj Seth, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Southern Command, inspected the battlefield and praised the efficiency of the soldiers. He said that the Indian Army is completely capable of fighting the enemies under any circumstances.

Vijayanagara’s army was technically backward in weapons. Their archers still used traditional bamboo bows. Whereas the Mughals were using match lock guns and cannon. Along with this, the organizational structure of the Vijayanagara army also created many weaknesses. Most of the army was composed of soldiers supplied by the Nayaks. This meant that unity and command discipline could break down at most moments. And this is exactly what happened during the battle of Talikota in 1565. Internal coordination failed in this war and the empire collapsed.

If we talk about the armies of both the empires, both were quite advanced in their time, but their strength was different. The Mughals were known for their artillery and cavalry, while Vijayanagara was famous for its infantry, war elephants and naval powers. While the Vijayanagara Empire reflected regional power and cultural pride, the Mughals introduced a new age of warfare technology in India.
