According to the Supreme Court’s decision in 2022, any officer can remain an officer in this authority for six years. The BCCI has four posts of Office Bearer, including the post of Chairman, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. Rajiv Shukla has been over 4.5 years for the post of Vice President. If he becomes president, then he will have to withdraw from this post in December 2026.

Arun Dhumal’s cooling-off period

The second question in BCCI election is whether IPL chairperson Arun Dhumal will have to complete the cooling of period. Arun Dhumal was made Treasurer in 2019 and in 2022 he got the role of IPL chairperson. Dhumal has completed 6 years in BCCI, but it has been three years since Office-Bearer.
