Former Delhi Chief Minister and National Convenor of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Arvind Kejriwal has got a big relief from the court. An MP-MLA court in Sultanpur, Uttar Pradesh, allowed Kejriwal, who was facing a case of election code of conduct violations, to travel abroad.

Kejriwal’s lawyer Rudra Pratap Singh Madan said on Tuesday (September 9) that the case related to Arvind Kejriwal was held on September 8, after which Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Shubham Verma reserved the order and later allowed him to go abroad.

What did the lawyer say?

On September 8, Madan told reporters that a case of violation of election code of conduct was registered against former Delhi Chief Minister Kejriwal in Amethi.

Madan said, “Earlier, the court had allowed Kejriwal to renew the passport on the condition that he would take permission of the court before going abroad. Today, we requested the court to remove that condition, as they have to go on a trip abroad. The hearing took place and the order was reserved. ”

In August, the court had allowed Kejriwal to renew his passport and directed not to go out of the country without prior approval of the court.

Amethi came to promote Kumar Vishwas

This case against Kejriwal is related to the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. At that time, Kejriwal came to Amethi to campaign for AAP candidate Kumar Vishwas.

Meanwhile, two cases were registered against him at Gauriganj and Musafirkhana police stations in Amethi district for allegedly violating the model code of conduct. Kejriwal is on bail in these cases. On the direction of the Supreme Court, the proceedings in this case are currently postponed.
