AIMIM Chief said that after operation vermilion it is important that wherever the Government of India is taking us, it is in the interest of the country. Asaduddin Owaisi Targets Modi Government on Waqf Act Supreme Court Hearing More Details

Asaduddin owaisi on waqf act: There is a lot of controversy about the WAQF Act and now the matter has reached the Supreme Court. On Thursday, the Supreme Court has sought answers from the central government on the petitions challenging the validity of this act. The court has given 7 days time for this. The court also said that until the answer comes, no new appointment will be made in the Central Waqf Parishad and Waqf boards.

On behalf of the government, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta asked the court that they need some time to prepare the answer. The court obeyed him. Chief Justice Sanjay Khanna said that the petitions are very much, so the court will hear only 5 petitions. He also said that if a Waqf property is registered under the 1995 law, it cannot be removed. A petition in these petitions is also that of Asaduddin Owaisi. He was present in the court and later he spoke on the issue in a conversation with NDTV.

When NDTV was asked during an interview, Asaduddin Owaisi was asked if he considers today’s decision to be his victory, he replied, “The buttermilk that the milk is burnt also drinks, it is also a fight for our rights.” He further said, “From the beginning, the Waqf Act is unconstitutional. This law has not brought them to save the properties of Waqf, but to snatch them. The government wants to implement the Limitation Act, so that those who have occupied Waqf land for years, they will be made the owner.”

Owaisi asked the government questions

Owaisi also questioned the conditions laid on the Waqf Board to become members. He said, “The condition of following Muslim religion has been laid for five years, but who will decide? Will my beard be decided or I will have to live in a particular look? Especially how will it be decided for women whether they are doing religious conduct or not?” He warned that such rules will affect the Federal structure in the constitution.

“Legal battle is not over yet”, said Owaisi

Taking a sarcasm, he said, “The richest man in India, who once built a palace on the land of the Yatimkhana, can now become the owner of that land under Section 2 of this law. I challenge the BJP to prove me to be false.” He further said, “This legal battle is not over yet. Muslims are still being denied their Waqf properties. We will fight it till the last moment.”

What did Owaisi say on Waqf property?

The AIMIM chief has clarified how Waqf property is declared and what is the role of Waqf Board in it. Reacting to the allegations, he said that when the governments themselves issue a gazette notification of Waqf property under the legal process, then why is the Waqf Board being blamed. In a conversation with NDTV, Owaisi said, “First of all it is important to understand how a property is made. Or not.”

Owaisi further said, “When it is confirmed that the land belongs to the same person, the survey commissioner prepares the report and sends it to the Chief Secretary. Then the Chief Secretary issues a gazette notification on the basis that is a valid legal document.” He raised the question and said, “When governments themselves legally noted the Waqf properties, then why are the Waqf Board abused?”
