Controversy has arisen in Surat district of Gujarat over the Aarti of Asaram, convicted of rape. Actually, some unknown people came to the new civil hospital of Suraj and started doing aarti suddenly by putting a picture of Asaram. The dispute deepened when Dr. Jigisha Patodia, head of the Pediatrics Department, also appeared there.

In the evening of the New Civil Hospital, which people also know as ‘Ashirwad Sthan’, a group of devotees of Asaram organized a Aarti by putting a picture of him on the evening of Tuesday (23 September). During the Aarti, some hospital staff also appeared present between the mantras and the bhajan. Local people and social workers have also recorded a video of the incident.

Asaram serving life sentence
It is known that Asaram was sentenced to life imprisonment by Jaipur Court in the year 2018 by Jaipur Court in the case of rape of a 16 -year -old minor girl. After this, in the year 2023, the Gandhinagar court sentenced a woman from Surat to life imprisonment in the rape case.

Only permission was to distribute fruits
RMO Dr. Ketan Nayak’s statement has come on this matter. He was out of the hospital during this incident. He said that permission was sought to distribute only fruits in the hospital. The security guard responsible in this case has been suspended.

Hospital management replied
The new Civil Hospital administration came into action as soon as the video went viral on social media. RMO Ketan Nayak has described this incident as serious. He said that hospital management does not support this action in any way. Pooja and aarti were performed by putting photos on the pretext of permission for fruit distribution, which is not at all appropriate.

The hospital management has clarified that Dr. Jigisha Patadia was also present only because it was the first day of Navratri. Therefore, he had made an attendance.

The Gujarat High Court has ordered a 5 -day temporary bail to Narayan Sai, son of rape and self -proclaimed saint Asaram on Thursday (September 18). The court has given this relief to meet his ailing mother.

Narayan Sai is currently serving life imprisonment in Lajpor Jail in Surat. He argued in court that he met his mother for the last time in February 2021. Now his mother is struggling with serious heart disease and permission was sought to meet him due to the deteriorating situation.

Government and victim side protested

However, the state government and the victim’s lawyer opposed this petition. He said that there is no such concrete medical evidence in the record, which can prove that the mother’s condition is critical.

Despite this, the court decided to grant temporary bail after hearing the arguments of both the parties and considering the period spent in Sai’s jail.

Bail with strict conditions

Even after getting bail, Sai will have to follow several conditions. It has been said in the order that in a period of 5 days, he will remain only at his mother’s house in Ahmedabad and all this will be under police supervision. He will not be allowed to go somewhere else.

The court also clarified that it would not meet his followers or father Asaram’s followers in the group during this period.

Judge Ilesh Vora said in the order that Narayan Sai will be taken back to Lajpor Jail in Surat as soon as the bail period is over. The court has directed the administration to return it to jail without any delay after the completion of the period of 5 days.

Significantly, both Asaram and his son Narayan Sai have been convicted in rape cases and are currently serving sentence. This order of the court is currently given only on humanitarian grounds, so that Sai can meet his mother.

In Jodhpur, Asaram, who is serving life imprisonment in the case of sexual harassment, has received a major setback from the Rajasthan High Court. The court refused to increase his interim bail. The verdict was pronounced based on the medical report of the Civil Hospital in Ahmedabad. Now Asaram will have to surrender in Jodhpur Central Jail by 30 August.

The Rajasthan High Court clarified that according to the medical report, Asaram’s health is currently worth living in jail. This order has been given by the double bench of High Court Justice Dinesh Mehta and Justice Vineet Kumar Mathur. The court said that if their condition is critical in future, then they can apply for bail again, but at the moment they are healthy and they will have to return to prison.

Surrender deadline fixed

The court said in the order that Asaram will have to surrender in Jodhpur Central Jail by 30 August. At present, interim bail was increased by Asaram’s lawyer. The bail application has been rejected by the court based on the feedback given by three doctors of the government hospital in his medical report. This decision is being considered a big shock for the accused, who are already suffering life imprisonment in a serious case of sexual misconduct.
Please tell that a bail petition was filed by Asaram on August 12, but the court had extended that period till August 29, giving relief on the basis of medical report, but this time the court has issued an order to surrender.

The court also clarified that if Asaram faces any major health problem in future, then he can apply for bail again on the basis of a new medical report. At the moment, this order clearly indicates that they will no longer be able to stay out of jail and it will be mandatory to surrender on time.

Now let’s talk about Asaram Bapu. Asaram, who was lodged in Jodhpur Jail in Rajasthan, was sentenced to life imprisonment in the case of raping a minor in 2018. He is accused of misconduct with two real sisters of Surat, attack on witnesses and murder. In August 2024, the Rajasthan High Court gave him a seven -day parole for treatment. Asaram’s son Narayan Sai is also serving a life sentence in the case of rape in Surat jail.

Sant Rampal

Another Baba Saint Rampal of Haryana is lodged in Hisar Jail. Rampal, who runs Satlok Ashram, is accused of treason, physical exploitation, possessing illegal weapons and obstructing government work. His ashram found evidence of abortion and objectionable medicines, after which he was sentenced to life imprisonment.

Swami Bhimanand

Swami Bhimananda, known as the wishful Baba. He is in jail in Delhi on charges of running a racket of body trade. Bhimanand, the first security guard, has cases under serious laws like MCOCA.

Swami Parmanand

Swami Parman, who runs the Tiruchirappalli Ashram in Tamil Nadu, is also in jail. He is accused of rape of 13 women.

Asaram bail extended: Asaram is again relieved from the Gujarat High Court. The court has extended the period of temporary bail for one month. This relief has been given on medical grounds. However, the court has also clarified that this is the last time when the bail period is being expanded.

The bench of Justice Ilesh Vora and Justice PM Rawal extended the temporary bail of Asaram for one month during the hearing. In a 2013 rape case, Asaram is serving a life sentence. Asaram (86) is on bail on the medical ground.

Court granted bail on March 28

The court first granted bail on March 28 and gave an interim expansion till 7 July before the period ended on 30 June. During the hearing in the court on Thursday, Asaram’s lawyer urged to extend the bail period by three months. However, the High Court said that it will extend the bail period for only one month and it would be a ‘final expansion’.

Temporary bail was received for the first 3 months

Asaram knocked on the door of the High Court when the interim bail given by the Supreme Court was to end on 31 March on medical grounds. The apex court had directed him that he could plead it if any expansion is needed. The bench of the High Court then gave a divided verdict, after which the case was sent to the third judge. The third judge gave him three months of temporary bail.

Sentenced to life imprisonment from Gandhinagar court

In January 2023, a court in Gandhinagar convicted Asaram in a rape case and sentenced him to life imprisonment. Asaram is also serving a life imprisonment in another case of rape with a minor girl in his ashram in Rajasthan in 2013.

Asaram bail: The Gujarat High Court on Friday (June 27) gave a big relief to Asaram in the 2013 rape case. His temporary bail extended till 7 July. In this case, he is serving a sentence of life imprisonment.

A division bench of Justices Ilesh Vora and Sandeep Bhatt extended the temporary bail of Asaram from three months during the hearing of the petition, which was earlier given on 28 March. Its duration is ending on 30 June.

What did the lawyer say?

Asaram (86) is on bail on health basis. The bail period has been extended so that his lawyer can submit the necessary documents in the petition. The next hearing on the case will be held on July 2.

Asaram’s counsel, while demanding a few days’ deferment to submit the documents, claimed that 10 days were wasted due to the process of getting the order from the Jodhpur High Court after the court was given temporary bail on March 28 and Asaram was released on April 7.

He said, “So I request to give two days time so that if the matter is heard on Monday, I can keep the documents on record and they (defendants) can also verify it.”

What did the court say?

The court said in its order that “Keeping in mind the process of obtaining a certificate from the specific facts of the current case, especially Nalsa (National Legal Services Authority), we are extending temporary bail till July 7.”

On March 28, the High Court granted Asaram temporary bail for three months as the interim bail given to him by the Supreme Court was ending on 31 March. A division bench of the High Court had given a divided verdict after which the case was sent to the third judge, who ruled in favor of giving Asaram a three -month temporary bail.

In January 2023, a court in Gandhinagar sentenced Asaram to life imprisonment in the rape case. Asaram is also serving a life sentence in another case of sexual abuse of a minor girl in his ashram in Rajasthan in 2013. In the current case, she was convicted of raping a female follower from Surat several times between 2001 and 2006.

Asaram interim bail: Asaram, convicted of rape, has once again got a big relief from the Rajasthan High Court. The court accepted Asaram’s application and increased his interim bail till June 30. Asaram cited health reasons in his petition. The court has accepted his petition.

Advocate Yashpal Singh Rajpurohit said that in the Rajasthan High Court today we appealed to increase the interim bail given to Asaram Bapu. The court listened to the case and accepted our application. Earlier, we had filed a similar application in the Gujarat High Court, which was accepted for three months of expansion. After hearing the arguments of both the parties, the court has approved to extend the interim bail period.

What is the whole matter?

It is noteworthy that in August 2013, a 16 -year -old girl accused Asaram of sexually assaulting her in her ashram near Jodhpur, Rajasthan. The victim’s parents lodged a complaint, due to which Asaram was arrested on August 31, 2013. Subsequently, in April 2018, a Jodhpur court convicted Asaram of rape from a minor and sentenced him to life imprisonment under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses and various sections of the Juvenile Justice Act.

In October 2013, further allegations were reported when a former disciple and a woman from Surat accused Asaram of repeated sexual harassment between 2001 and 2006 at her ashram in Ahmedabad.

This was followed by another legal case, which ended in January 2023 when a court in Gandhinagar convicted Asaram for rape, which was his second sentence on such allegations. Apart from these punishment, Asaram’s son Narayan Sai also made similar allegations.

In 2013, two sisters of Surat alleged that Asaram and Narayan had sexually assaulted them in the mid -2000s. The elder sister accused Asaram, while the younger sister accused Narayan of attack in Surat Ashram between 2002 and 2005.

Heart attack has come while in jail
Earlier in January 2025, Asaram was granted bail by the Supreme Court on the medical ground till 31 March. It is being told that Asaram is a heart patient and he has also had a heart attack while in jail.

The victim’s sister had also filed a rape case against Asaram’s son Narayan Sai. In 2019, Narayan Sai was also found guilty and the court sentenced him to life imprisonment. This case was also of the year 2013.
