Muharram 2026 Date: The moon of Mahe Muharram was sighted in the district on Tuesday. City Qazi Mufti Muhammad Azhar Shamsi announced that Wednesday, June 17, is the first date of Mahe Muharram. The tenth day of Muharram (Yaume Ashura) is on Friday, June 26.

Muharram is the first month of the Islamic calendar i.e. Hijri year. 1448 started with the moon. With this, the memory of the great sacrifice made by Prophet-e-Islam Hazrat Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam, Hazrat Syedna Imam Hussain Radiyallahu Anhu and his companions has been refreshed.

<iframe title="क्या आप सिर्फ सैलरी के लिए जिंदा हैं?
Ulama Kiram has prayed for everyone that the new Islamic year brings prosperity and blessings in everyone’s life. He has also appealed to the Muslims to worship Allah a lot. Keep fasting. Recite Quran, Fatiha and make dua in the memory of Hazrat Syedna Imam Hussain Radiyallahu Anhu and Shahadae of Karbala. Maintain peace and tranquility.

Muharram moon visible

Hafiz Rahmat Ali Nizami and Qari Muhammad Anas Naqshbandi told that on the first date of Muharram, the martyrdom of the second Caliph of Muslims, Amirul Momineen Hazrat Syedna Umar Radiyallahu Anhu took place. On the tenth day of Muharram, a cruel king named Yazid had martyred Hazrat Syedna Imam Hussain Radiyallahu Anhu, the grandson of Prophet-e-Islam Hazrat Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam, and his companions in the field of Karbala. ‘Zikre Shuhdaa Karbala’ gathering/Majlis will start from the 1st of Muharram in major mosques and homes. Whose sequence will continue till tenth Muharram.

As soon as the moon of Muharram rises, after the Isha prayers, the hustle and bustle in the Muslim dominated localities increases. Fatiha bloodshed took place. People are also wishing each other a Happy Islamic New Year through social media.

royal procession will take place

A traditional royal procession will take out from Imambara Estate located in Miyan Bazar on 5th, 9th and 10th of Muharram. A fair will be held here. Processions will continue day and night from the fourth to the tenth Muharram from various localities of the city. The work of making Tajiya has gained momentum in the city.
