Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff and the country’s first Chief of Defense Forces (CDF) Field Marshal General Asim Munir has given a big statement on Saturday. He said that the Pakistani Army is fully prepared to deal with both external and internal threats. He made this statement after coming near the Indian border.

India and Pakistan visited the border

General Munir visited Gujranwala and Sialkot cantonment areas in Pakistan, close to the Indian border. Meanwhile, in a statement issued by the Pakistani Army, it was said that the army is ready to deal with the internal and external challenges arising from hostile ‘hybrid’ operations, extremist ideologies and divisive elements that undermine national stability.

During this visit, General Munir was given a briefing about the army’s operational preparedness and major initiatives to strengthen its combat capability. He interacted with the officers and soldiers and appreciated their high morale and unwavering commitment to national security.

Emphasis on the importance of rigorous and mission-focused training

General Munir also inspected a field training exercise and advanced simulator training facility. He praised the high professional standards of the formation and the overall state of readiness. Speaking about modern warfare, General Munir said that in today’s war, speed, accuracy, complete knowledge of the situation and the ability to take quick decisions are very important. He also stressed the importance of adopting technological changes.

Munir’s statement amid tension with India

This visit and statement of Munir has come at a time when there is an atmosphere of tension between India and Pakistan. On 22 April 2025, 26 civilians were killed in the terrorist attack in Pahalgam. In response to this, India started Operation Sindoor on 7 May. Attacked and destroyed terrorist hideouts in Pakistan and (PoK). After these attacks, there were fierce clashes between the two sides for four days, which ended on May 10 after mutual agreement to stop military action.

Asim Munir gave nuclear threats

If we felt that we are drowning, half will drown the world with us.” He made this statement after four days of struggle with India and during his second American visit in two months.
