The dates for the upcoming Assam Assembly elections have not been announced, but in an important political development, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has indicated that about 40 new faces can be fielded on the seats where the Bharatiya Janata Party is planning to contest.

Big changes can be seen in the list of candidates

The Chief Minister made this announcement while participating in a meeting organized under the Chief Minister Self-reliant Assam campaign in Sotai area of Jorhat. During this, while talking to the media, Sarma made it clear that major changes can be seen in the party’s candidate list.

What did Assam CM Himanta say?

The Chief Minister told reporters, ‘We currently have 63 MLAs, but we will contest elections on 103 seats. Therefore, there is a strong possibility of seeing new faces in the upcoming assembly elections.

Fear of major reshuffle

With this statement, the possibility of a large-scale reshuffle in the party’s candidate list has been raised. BJP is planning to contest elections on 103 seats and has only 63 sitting MLAs, so new candidates can be seen on about 40 seats.

Selection of candidates almost complete

According to party sources, BJP has finalized candidates for about 80 seats for the upcoming Assam Assembly elections. However, official confirmation is still pending as the final approval rests with the party’s central leadership.

campaign started

Meanwhile, BJP has intensified its election campaign across the state. Party workers and leaders are actively connecting with voters in every constituency. As part of the election preparations, large scale public relations programs and public meetings are being organized. With many new candidates likely to enter the fray, the upcoming Assam Assembly elections are likely to witness intense political activity and tough competition. More clarity on the final list of candidates is likely to come only after the formal approval of the central leadership.

There is intense political activity regarding Bihar Assembly elections 2025. While the grand alliance has declared Tejashwi Yadav as the chief ministerial face, VIP chief Mukesh Sahni has been made the deputy CM face. After this, NDA parties raised the question that who will represent the Muslim community in the grand alliance and whether Congress will also get the post of Deputy CM. Bihar Congress in-charge Krishna Allavaru has given a big statement on these questions.

A deputy CM will also be made from Congress
Krishna Allavaru, while talking to a YouTube channel, said that if the Grand Alliance government is formed, then Congress will also have a Deputy Chief Minister. He said, ‘Who will be there and from where, it will be decided after the elections. The principle of the Grand Alliance is that every community and class should be given representation. This includes both religion and caste.

A Muslim leader will also become Deputy CM
Allavaru told that there can be many Deputy Chief Ministers in the grand alliance. He said, ‘If need arises, not only 2 but also 4 Deputy CMs can be made, one of whom will be from the Muslim community.’ He said that the Grand Alliance is trying to ensure that all major sections and communities get equal share.

Why was the announcement of Tejashwi’s CM face delayed?
Allavaru clarified on the delay in formal announcement of Tejashwi Yadav’s name. He said that this was a planned process. ‘In the first meeting held in April, it was decided that the CM face would not be announced until the seat distribution and joint manifesto was prepared. This decision was taken about three weeks ago and the announcement was scheduled to be made before Diwali.

Differences regarding seat distribution, but no crisis
Allavaru also clarified on the news of tussle over seats between RJD and Congress. He said, ‘It is normal to have some differences in seat sharing. This keeps happening in coalition politics. The media sometimes hypes it up, making it seem as if relations have deteriorated, but it is not so. He said that the Grand Alliance is strong and united and all the parties are working for a common goal.

There was a huge uproar at the party headquarters after the meeting of the Central Election Committee (CEC) of the Congress. Women workers raised loud slogans in front of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge. While talking to ABP News, he said that when Rahul Gandhi has promised 33% participation of women in ticket distribution, then why is it not being implemented. Expressing displeasure, women workers said that they have been working hard for the Congress Party for years, but tickets are being given to “dummy candidates”, due to which the real workers are being ignored.

Party workers expressed their displeasure
Speaking to the media, a Congress worker said, ‘It was said that those who will be in the screening committee and whose online application process is completed, they will be given tickets. But some leaders like Krishna Allavaru and Rajesh Ram make women work hard, send them from door to door, and end up cheating. Krishna Allavaru is breaking the promise that Rahul Gandhi had made to give respect to youth and women. We Congress workers will not tolerate this. Bihar will not accept this. You will see the result of this, we will not remain silent.

Rahul Gandhi was not present in the meeting
The meeting of the Central Election Committee (CEC) of Congress regarding Bihar Assembly elections lasted for about three hours. According to sources, the party has formed a sub-committee to select the candidates, whose meeting will be held tomorrow at 9 am. In today’s meeting, Congress discussed 15 to 18 seats, whereas in the last CEC meeting, the final decision was taken on 25 seats. There are still 22 seats left to be discussed. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge was present in the meeting, while Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi joined through video conferencing as both are not in Delhi. The names of the candidates were considered in the meeting.

Bihar Congress President Rajesh Ram said, “Today we attended the second CEC meeting. Everyone expressed their views openly. We discussed all the seats. In this 2-3 hour meeting, we can say that the candidates were discussed in the areas which are part of the Congress Party.

On the one hand, political parties are busy with the Assembly elections in Bihar, on the other hand, the Election Commission has also completed its preparations. Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar has said that the assembly elections in Bihar will be held before 22 November as the term of Bihar Legislative Assembly is till 22 November. During this, he said that Sir will be done in the whole country like Bihar.

The Chief Election Commissioner said that the new initiatives initiated by the Commission in this election will be implemented in the whole country in future. Bihar has a total of 243 assembly seats and elections will be held on time. The entire team of Election Commission has been active in Bihar for two days. During this time, the team has held meetings with political parties, administrative election officials, top administrative officials, enforcement agencies, Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Special Police Nodal Officer (SPNO), and Nodal Police Force (CAPF) nodal officers in Patna, so that preparations for the election can be fully ensured.

Election Commission gave this big information

The Election Commission said that now there will be no more than 1200 voters at any polling booth. This system will improve both voting process and security. BLO (BOUSH Level Officer) will now contact voters directly and they have been provided ID cards for ease of identity. Apart from this, the facility to vote by depositing mobiles has also been started, so that voters do not bring mobile to polling booths.

100% webcasting at polling station

The Chief Election Commissioner said that one-stop digital platform will be implemented in Bihar. Now every candidate can deploy his agent up to 100 meters from the booth. All polling stations will have 100% webcasting. The EVM will now have colorful photos and ballot paper with colorful photos and serial numbers instead of black and white ballot paper, which will make the identity of the candidates easier and make the voting process transparent.

Recently a big change has been seen in the politics of Punjab. Former Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader and Kharar’s chief real estate businessman Ranjit Singh Gill (1 August) joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday (August 1) in the evening.

He was included in the party by Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini at his official residence in Chandigarh. On this occasion, Ranjit Gill expressed confidence in BJP’s policies under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said to be a part of a change wave in Punjab.

Why is Ranjit Gill coming to BJP important?

It is worth noting that Ranjit Singh Gill was once close to Shiromani Akali Dal chief Sukhbir Singh Badal. He recently resigned from the primary membership of SAD.

After joining the BJP, Ranjit Singh Gill said in a statement to ANI, “I have joined the BJP today keeping in mind the policies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the progress of Punjab. I thank Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini who helped me join BJP. I will work hard so that I will work hard in Punjab and we can take Punjab and we can move towards progress.”

Why did Ranjit Gill leave SAD?

Gill had alleged that dedicated workers in the party are being sidelined and outsiders are being given importance. He contested the last Punjab assembly elections on SAD ticket from Kharar seat, but could not win.

2027 Punjab assembly elections are monitored

After Ranjit Gill joined the BJP, Haryana CM Saini wrote on social media that “the people of Punjab have decided this time that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a lotus is to be fed in every house.” He said that the increasing confidence in the state in the state is an indication that Punjab is fully ready for positive changes this time.

Let us know that the next Punjab assembly elections are to be held in the year 2027. All such parties have already started strengthening their credibility with power.

One nation one election news: The tenure of the Joint Committee of Parliament constituted to consider the Bills proposed to conduct the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in India simultaneously has now been extended. This decision was taken on Tuesday (March 25) when the committee was entrusted with the task that it would present its report by the last week of this year.

The 39-member Joint Committee formed to consider the two Bills submitted with the objective of holding the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections simultaneously- ‘Constitution (129th Amendment) Bill, 2024’ and ‘Union Territory of Law (Amendment) Bill, 2024’ now proposed to extend the tenure. The chairman of the committee and BJP MP PP Chaudhary kept this proposal in the Lok Sabha, which was approved by the House. This committee has been given time to make intensive views and final recommendations on these bills.

Deadline set for committee report

These bills were introduced in the Lok Sabha on December 17 last year and now the committee has been directed to submit the report by the first week of the upcoming monsoon session. These bills are in the direction of implementing a step under which elections of Lok Sabha and Assembly can be conducted simultaneously. Due to this, there is a possibility of saving time in the election process and better use of resources.

Committee supported under the chairmanship of former President

The proposal is based on the basis of the high-level committee constituted under the chairmanship of former President Ram Nath Kovind, which supported the concept of ‘one nation-one election’. Accepting the recommendations of this committee, the Union Cabinet introduced two bills, one of which is the Constitution Amendment Bill and the other is the Union Territory of Law (Amendment) Bill.

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla constituted a 39 -member joint parliamentary committee under the chairmanship of PP Chaudhary in this regard which is considering these bills. Now the committee will have to submit its report in the Lok Sabha within the stipulated time. If these bills are passed then they will indicate a major change in the election process.
