Another important thing here was said that the safety of the family including bank branches in the border areas of India should also be taken care of. Rbi guidelines on atm: Today, a new rule has come into force in the whole country i.e. from 1 May 2025 regarding ATM charge. The announcement made by the Reserve Bank of India will have an impact on how many times you do transactions from your ATM every month and if you do more than the fixed limit, then how much will you have to give now. RBI said in its notification, Customers can do all five free transactions (financial and non-financial transactions) from their bank ATMs every month. They can also conduct free transactions (financial and non-financial transactions) from other bank ATMs.

Three transactions are free in metro cities while five free transactions in non -metro places are free from another bank’s ATM. Further in RBA’s guidelines, it is said that after the fixed free transactions, the customers can be charged up to a maximum of Rs 23 and it will be implemented from 1 May 2025.

In other words, if said, the number of free transactions of ATM depends on where you are living. People living in metro cities can make free transactions three times from other banks ATMs, while people who live in non -metro can do free transactions five times from ATMs of other banks. This includes both types of financial transportation (eg money withdrawn) and non-financial (eg balance check or mini statement). As soon as you can overcome this fixed limit, the bank charge you.

Today i.e. from May 1 to 2025, if you use ATM more time than the free limit, then your bank can charge up to Rs 23, which was being charged at Rs 21 earlier.
