Instagram Reels: Instagram has become such a social media platform where people remain active for many hours. Some use Instagram to watch reels and some to post stories and talk. But Instagram reels are the most trending today where everyone from children to old people are active. Nowadays, there is so much craze for smartphones among children that they keep scrolling Instagram reels for many hours. Now a report has come out where it has been said that doing this is having a deep impact on the minds of children.

Stress is increasing due to watching more reels

A new study conducted by researchers at the University of Bayreuth in Germany has revealed that the habit of continuously watching short videos is increasing stress in children and youth. Not only this, by doing this their focus is also decreasing. This research has been published in the European Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Journal in June.

Scientists say that today youth all over the world are spending more and more time on short video platforms. Doing this is having a negative impact on their mind and behavior, which needs attention now.

These are the three reasons

This research has revealed three major reasons due to which children and youth are unable to stop themselves from watching reels. The first is that due to the rapid arrival of new content, the user remains engaged in it and is unable to leave the platform. The second is Infinite Scrolling which never ends. That is why people keep scrolling continuously and waste many of their hours in this. Whereas, the third is the personalized algorithm that shows content as per the user’s choice. It shows people only the content that they want to see or that they like. This is the biggest reason due to which people are not able to distance themselves from this platform.

Research was done on so many people

In this research, 42 different research groups were analyzed. About 47 thousand people were included in this research, whose average age is about 16. Let us tell you that in this research, a study was done on the use of digital media at home, school and other public places, after which it was revealed that the short video platform has been designed in such a way that people cannot go away from it. With new videos coming every second, people remain glued to the platform and are unable to move away quickly.

How to keep children away from this

Researchers believe that if parents and families create a healthy digital environment for children and set a fixed time for mobile use, these dangers can be avoided to a great extent. Apart from this, taking children to the outside world instead of using smartphones and participating in physical activities or sports on the ground helps them recover more quickly. Not only this, parents and family should spend more and more time with children so that their dependence on social media and smartphones can be reduced.

Executive Function Disorder: Do you forget keys, glasses or mobile and many other small things? Imagine you have reached office and you remember that hey, I have forgotten an important file at home or you keep searching for your glasses or phone again and again. If you are facing this kind of problem, then always remember one thing that if this kind of problem is happening once or twice, then it is normal. But if you are facing this kind of problem again and again and it is affecting your daily routine, then you need to be careful. You may have been a victim of ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder). Let us tell you about it in detail.

What is ADHD?

Forgetfulness happens to everyone, things are not remembered due to lack of sleep, stress or doing too many things at once. But if this becomes a habit, then it becomes a problem. According to a report by Helpguide, people affected with ADHD face difficulty in understanding or remembering things. To put it in simple words, the brain becomes weak in preserving the information and remembering it at the right time. You can see the patterns of this disease in lifestyle like repeatedly losing everyday things like keys, phone or wallet, leaving important tasks incomplete or forgetting them, not remembering medicines or appointments on time and getting distracted during conversations or meetings.

Why does this problem occur?

Experts say that ADHD is a neurodevelopmental disorder in which the executive functioning of the brain does not work properly. Many researches have been done regarding this, out of which one research study has been done by Forbrain. According to this study, it affects the ability of the brain to remember and retrieve information in a timely manner. This is the reason why a person starts forgetting small things.

When can there be a problem?

You can find out whether you are affected by ADHD or not by the events happening in your daily routine. If forgetting has become a daily habit, not just occasionally, then you are facing problems outside the home as well. Along with this, lack of attention, difficulty in managing time and sudden mood change are included. According to a report by Chennai Minds, people with ADHD often say that their keys, phones, ballots, documents always go missing. This is not a problem of laziness, but related to the processing of the brain.
