In Uttar Pradesh, the matter of distribution of ration in the month of August is stuck, because hundreds of Kotedars from across the state reached Lucknow on Tuesday with their demands, where all of them were preparing to surround the Assembly. But the police stopped him at Charbagh itself and sent him to Eco Garden.

The Kotedar organization has given a clear warning that if the government does not listen to their demands soon, then ration distribution will be completely stopped in the month of August. Along with this, he has also announced an agitation against big stars in the state.

70 thousand Kotedars across the state

Let us tell you here that there are a total of 70 thousand Kotedars in 75 districts of the state, who distribute 80 lakh quintals of ration every month. Kotedars say that they are fulfilling the responsibility of distributing free ration under the National Food Security Act and Pradhan Mantri Anna Yojana. But their commission is very low compared to other states. Whereas increase it as soon as possible so that their life can become better.

What are the main demands of the Kotedars?

The main demands of the Kotedars include increase in commission, regular honorarium, pending payment for the last three months and facilities like other states. The farmers told that in UP they get a dividend of Rs 90 per quintal. Whereas in Haryana and Goa it is up to Rs 200. Whereas in some states, facility of up to Rs 200 thousand is being provided under minimum income guarantee.

At present, the police and administration have kept the Kotedars in Eco Garden, but looking at their attitude, it seems that if the government does not take any decision on their demands, then the agitation may intensify further. During this period, there was tension between the police and the Kotedars for a long time. The police definitely succeeded in stopping everyone from gathering.
