India has made it to the final of the World Cup by defeating Australia by 5 wickets. Now the Indian team will face South Africa in the final on November 2. This is the biggest run chase in Women’s World Cup history. Australia, playing first in the semi-final match, had scored a huge score of 338 runs. Thanks to Jemimah Rodriguez’s unbeaten 127 runs and Harmanpreet Kaur’s 89 runs, the Indian team achieved the target with 9 balls remaining.

This is the second time in Women’s World Cup history that India has defeated Australia in the semi-final match. Earlier in the 2017 World Cup, the Indian team had defeated Australia by 36 runs. Defending champion Australia’s dream of becoming world champion for the eighth time remains unfulfilled.

India made world record

This is the highest score chased by any team in Women’s World Cup history. Earlier, the record of the biggest successful run chase was in the name of Australia, which had chased the target of 331 runs against India in the same World Cup. Also, this is only the second time in the World Cup when a team has chased a target of more than 300.

331 runs- Australia (vs India)

275 runs – South Africa (vs India)

Amazing work of Rodriguez-Harmanpreet

While chasing the target of 339 runs, India lost the wickets of Smriti Mandhana (24 runs) and Shefali Verma (10 runs) till the score of 59 runs. After this, Jemimah Rodriguez and Harmanpreet Kaur together made a historic partnership of 167 runs and brought India closer to victory. During this period, Harmanpreet and Rodriguez also got life support several times.

Harmanpreet got out on the score of 89 in the 36th over while trying to play a big shot. From here Rodriguez took the entire responsibility on his shoulders. First she added 38 runs with Deepti Sharma, then made a small but very important partnership of 46 runs with Richa Ghosh. Especially Richa Ghosh’s cameo inning of 26 runs played at a strike rate of 162 contributed a lot in bringing India closer to victory.

Australia’s experienced bowling disintegrated under pressure in the final overs. Meanwhile, catches were also missed by the fielders. Rodriguez returned unbeaten after scoring 127 runs, but the winning shot was hit by Amanjot Kaur, who returned unbeaten after scoring 15 runs in 8 balls.

Australia has given a mountain-like target to Team India in the semi-finals of the 2025 Women’s ODI World Cup. Thanks to the century of Phoebe Litchfield and half-centuries of Ellyse Perry and Ashley Gardner, Australia has given India a target of 339 runs. However, at one time it seemed that the Australian team would easily cross 350, but the Indian bowlers restricted the run rate by taking consecutive wickets.

The Australian team was all out for 338 runs in 49.5 overs in the semi-final match. Shri Charani and Deepti Sharma took 2-2 wickets for India. Whereas Amanjot Kaur, Radha Yadav and Kranti Gaur got one wicket each. However, all the Indian bowlers gave away a lot of runs.

Phoebe Litchfield’s century, Elise Perry also shined

Australia, who came to bat first after winning the toss, did not have a good start. Captain Alyssa Healy was out after scoring just five runs. However, after this Phoebe Litchfield thrashed the Indian bowlers. The first wicket fell for 25 runs, but after this there was a partnership of 175 runs between Phoebe Litchfield and Ellyse Perry. Phoebe Litchfield played a brilliant inning of 119 runs in 93 balls with the help of 17 fours and 3 sixes. Elise Perry scored 77 runs in 88 balls. 6 fours and 2 sixes came from his bat.

Indian bowlers took wickets continuously in the last overs.

After the dismissal of Phoebe Litchfield and Ellyse Perry, Ashley Gardner played a brilliant inning of 63 runs in just 45 balls. 4 fours and 4 sixes came from his bat. No one could stand on the other end. Beth Mooney was out after scoring 24, Annabal Sutherland 03, Tahila McGrath 12 and Kim Garth 17 runs.

3 wickets fell in the last over

Australia lost 3 wickets in the last over. Otherwise this score could have been 350 also. Deepti Sharma gave only 3 runs in the last over. Shri Charani and Deepti Sharma took 2-2 wickets for India. Whereas Amanjot Kaur, Radha Yadav and Kranti Gaur got one wicket each. However, all the Indian bowlers gave away a lot of runs.

The second semi-final of the 2025 Women’s ODI World Cup is being played between India...

The second semi-final of the 2025 Women’s ODI World Cup is being played between India and Australia at the Dr. DY Patil Sports Stadium in Navi Mumbai. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of rain during the match today. The match was stopped for about 15 minutes due to rain in the sixth over. In such a situation, fans want to know what would happen if the semi-finals between India and Australia could not be held today due to rain? Which team will enter the final? Here everyone will get the answer.

Reserve day has been kept for the semi-finals

First of all, let us tell you that if the match between India and Australia does not take place today due to rain, then this match will be played tomorrow. Wherever the match stops today, the match will start from the same place tomorrow. ICC has kept reserve days for both the semi-final and final matches.

What will happen if it rains on the reserve day also?

This question is much bigger. If the match is not played today then it will be played tomorrow i.e. on 31st October, but if it rains on 31st October and the match is cancelled, then the Australian team will enter the final due to being on top in the points table. Let us tell you that in the league stage, the Australian team had won 6 out of 7 matches. One match of Australia was washed out due to rain. Whereas Team India could win only 3 matches in the league stage.

Australia has chosen batting

Well, the semi-final match between India and Australia started on time amidst the strong possibility of rain. Australia won the toss and decided to bat first. Captain Alyssa Healy has returned to the pavilion after scoring only five runs in 15 balls. His wicket fell in the sixth over. As soon as he was out, the match was stopped due to rain. However, the match resumed after a 15-minute interruption. You can watch all the updates and live scores of the match on ABP Live.
