Shubhanshu shukla axiom 4: Indian Air Force Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla made a video call as soon as he reached the space. He described the country as Namaskar and described his experience. Shubhanshu arrived at space on Thursday morning along with three other astronauts from America, Poland and Hungary. Shubhanshu has set out on the Axiom-4 space mission.

Shubhanshu Shukla said in the video call, “Hello. I am now getting used to zero gravity. Like a child is learning to walk or he is finding out how to walk. I am really enjoying this moment. The tricolor always reminds me that all of you are with me. India’s Human Space Program and the upcoming Gaganyaan Mission is a strong step. I want each of you to feel a part of this mission. ”

Shubhanshu flying with Kennedy Space Center in Florida

Lucknow -born Shubhanshu Shukla flight was launched in Florida at Falcon 9 am from the launch Complex 39A of NASA’s Kennedy Space Center at 2:31 am (Indian time at 12 noon) in a new SpaceX Dragon Spacecraft on Falcon 9 rocket. NASA said in an update, “SpaceX Dragon spacecraft is revolving around the Earth after launching from the Kennedy Space Center on EDT at 2:31 pm on Wednesday and moving towards the international space station, with four members of the Acom Mission 4 crew.”

The Dragon features X-4 commander Paigi Whitson, Pilot Shubhanshu Shukla and Mission expert Slavose Uznansky-Vizniavski and Tibor Kapu. NASA said that it will do the dock at the space-affected port of the Harmony module at 7 am on Thursday. After 41 years, an astronaut of India is again in space. Shukla will be the second Indian to reach space after Rakesh Sharma’s flight in 1984.

Shukla had given this message to the country earlier

In his message while going to ISS, Shukla said, “Hello, my dear countrymen. What is the journey. After 41 years we are in space again. This is a great experience. We are revolving around the earth at a speed of 7.5 kilometers per second. This is not just my journey. I am taking Indian tricolor with me.”

Shubhanshu shukla axiom-4 mission: The AXIOM-4 mission with four astronauts including India’s group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla was launched from the Kennedy Space Center in NASA at 12:01 pm today. This mission is taking the four astronauts leading to the International Space Station (ISS).

This mission includes Shubhanshu Shukla of India, N McClen, Nicole Aires and Pagi Whitson. These four passengers will go to low-end orbit and do dock at the space facing port of the hormony module of ISS. Docking is expected to be 4:30 pm (IST) on Thursday evening. This means that the journey from launch to Docking will be about 28.5 to 29 hours. After this, the crew will stay on ISS for about two weeks and participate in scientific research and education related activities.

How did the mission begin?

The mission started with the launch complex 39A of NASA in Florida. This is the place from where Neil Armstrong flew for Moon Mission. All the passengers of AXIOM-4 arrived at the launch pad wearing special space suits and boarded the dragon capsules C213. Before the launch, he completed the necessary technical investigation with SpaceX and NASA teams.

Fuel filled about 35 minutes before launch

The launch director, about 35 minutes before the launch of the AXIOM-4 mission, allowed the fuel to be fuel in the rocket. Earlier, the emergency escape system was activated for all crew members, which can safely take them out in any emergency. This was followed by a supercooked liquid oxygen and RP-1 kerosene fuel in the Falcon-9 rocket. About 5 minutes before the launch, the Dragon Capsule transmitted in internal power mode.

Falcon-9 rocket flew on time

At the launch of the Axiom-4 mission, Falcon-9 rocket engines went on and took the vehicle to the sky. On the 57th second of the launch, the most important moment named ‘Max Q’ came, when the vehicle is the most pressure. As the vehicle moved towards the space, the crew began to feel the effect of the strong gravitational force. This vehicle is flying at a speed of 27,000 kmph and is making a round of the earth every 90 minutes.

The AXIOM-4 team will now start their two-week scientific mission on ISS, including research related to diabetes. People from all over the world, including India, are wishing him best wishes and wishing this mission to succeed.

Shubhanshu shukla axiom-4: India’s Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla has started a historic journey of space on 25 June 2025 under the Akiom Mission-4 (AX-4). He has left for the International Space Station (ISS). The mission was launched from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida, USA through Falcon 9 rocket and dragon spacecraft.

But one question is that when ISS is just 400 km from Earth, then why does it take 28 hours to reach there? Let us understand the easy answer.

Why is the process of meeting ISS in space complicated?
ISS makes a round of the Earth every 90 minutes in “Low Earth Orbit”, about 400 km above the surface of the Earth, that is, it is moving at a speed of 28,000 kilometers per hour.

Instead of transporting the dragon vehicle directly to ISS, first it has to be adjusted slowly to his class so that it can match the direction, height and speed of ISS. This process is called Phaasing Manoeuvres, in which the vehicles of the vehicle are repeatedly burnt so that the orbit can be gradually changed.

SpaceX’s dragon vehicle uses 16 “DRACO thrusters” during this period, which produce 90 pounds in space.

Docking and security check takes extra time
When the dragon reaches ISS, its speed becomes very slow so that it can connect to the station safely. This docking process is very accurate because even a little lapse can cause an accident.

After docking, the equality and leakage of pressure between spacecraft and ISS is examined for about 1 to 2 hours. Only then can the passengers inside the vehicle enter the station.

Why Soyuz Tej and Why Dragon Slow?
The Russian Soyuz vehicle takes just 8 hours to reach ISS, as it is based on decades old technology and precise calculations. At the same time, SpaceX’s dragon vehicle is a new technology, which was first prepared for flights including unmanned and later humans in 2012.

SpaceX for dragon’s phazing and docking is still working on a new model of calculations and manuvers, which makes the time look a little more.

Launch delay and launch window role
The date of the AX-4 mission was changed several times. This launch proposed in May was postponed till June. The reason was bad weather, oxygen leakage in Falcon 9 rocket and maintenance in the Russian part of ISS.

The launch window is a certain time when it is necessary to leave the rocket so that it can reach ISS in low fuel and time. A little delay also re-schedules the entire mission.

How does the rocket work?

Falcon 9 rocket works in two stages.

The first stage transmits the vehicle out of the atmosphere with nine merlin engines and then lands back to Earth.

The second stage, which has a merlin engine, installs the dragon vehicle into its orbit.

This two-level process also makes the journey long, but it is better for both environment and cost.

Full timeline of travel
Launch: 25 June 2025, 12:01 pm (Indian time)

Admission to class: 15 minutes after launch

Zero Gravity Indicator: A small goose toy called “Joy” will start swimming in space

Phazing Manuvaras: In the next 28 hours, the vehicle will gradually reach ISS orbit

Docking: between 4 to 10 pm (IST) on 26 June

Pressure and leakage check: 1-2 hours after docking

ISS admission: Shubhanshu and team will enter the station after investigation

What is the role of Shubhanshu Shukla?
Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla is the pilot of this mission. They are working with Mission Commander Pagi Whitson (former NASA astronaut). Their responsibilities include operating spacecraft, monitoring system and assisting in scientific experiments. He will stay on ISS for 14 days and will do 7 Indians and 5 American experiments. Apart from this, he will also organize special sessions related to yoga and Indian culture.

Delay and challenges
The AX-4 mission was postponed several times, sometimes the weather was bad, sometimes technical fault came and sometimes the Russian part of ISS was maintained. This shows how sensitive the space missions are and how high the value of every second is. Security, calculation, and accuracy- this is the real challenge of space.
