A coach of Rajdhani Express (12431) coming from Trivandrum, Kerala to Hazrat Nizamuddin caught fire. This incident happened between Luni Richha and Vikramgarh Alot railway station of Kota railway division. As soon as the news of the fire came, all the passengers were safely evacuated from the train. This incident occurred on Sunday (17 May 2026) at around 5:15 am between Lunirichha and Vikramgarh Alot stations in Kota division of Madhya Pradesh. The fire broke out in B-1 coach of the train.

There were a total of 68 passengers on board the train at the time of the fire and it is a matter of relief that all the passengers are safe. No passenger has been injured. After the fire, the guard immediately informed the loco pilot, after which the train was stopped and all the passengers were quickly evacuated from the coach. The entire coach was evacuated in about 15 minutes.

The entire coach was almost completely destroyed by fire.

The fire spread so fast that within a short time the entire coach was almost completely destroyed. Railway relief and rescue team reached the spot to control the fire. Employees were also called from nearby stations and the local administration also helped.

According to railway officials, this train left from Ratlam Junction in Madhya Pradesh at around 3:45 am. Its next stop was at Kota Junction at 8:45 am, but before that the accident took place near Vikramgarh Alot. After the incident, the movement of trains on the Delhi-Mumbai railway route was stopped. The power supply to the train has also been stopped and the affected coach has been separated from the train. Senior railway officials and technical team are reaching the spot and investigating. At present, the cause of the fire has not been known and orders have been given to investigate the matter.

DRM of Ratlam division left

Ratlam Control received information from Kota Control at 05:20 am that there was a fire in B-1 coach of Train No. 12431 (Trivandrum-Hazrat Nizamuddin Rajdhani Express). This incident happened between Lunirichha and Vikramgarh Alot stations of Kota division. There is no loss of life in this incident and all the passengers are said to be safe. As soon as information about the incident was received, DRM of Ratlam division has left for the spot. Besides, ART and ARME (emergency trains) have also been sent from Ratlam for relief and rescue.

Train operations affected

Tower wagon has also been sent from Ratlam to the incident site, so that the track and technical condition can be rectified soon. Due to this incident, the operation of some trains has been affected and there has been a temporary impact on rail traffic. Railway officials are busy in normalizing the situation and the matter is being fully investigated.
