Pakistan-Zimbabwe-Sri Lanka tri series has started from today. In the first match, Pakistan defeated Zimbabwe by 5 wickets. Babar Azam and captain Salman Aga flopped badly, but the Pakistan team, despite faltering, somehow won the match by 5 wickets. Babar could not even open an account. Zimbabwe had scored 147 runs while playing first, in reply Pakistan team ensured victory by 5 wickets in the last over.

Zimbabwe was given a good start by Brian Bennett and T Marumani. There was an opening partnership of 72 runs between the two. Bennett scored 49 runs and Marumani scored 30 runs. But after that wickets kept falling continuously, but in the meantime captain Sikandar Raza played an unbeaten inning of 34 runs.

Babar out on ‘0’, Fakhar Zaman shines

Babar Azam is coming back after ending the century drought in the recent ODI series against Sri Lanka. Now he could not even open his account against Zimbabwe. For this he has to get trolled again. Whereas captain Salman Aga could score only 1 run.

Pakistan had lost 4 wickets at the score of 54. After that Fakhar Zaman and Usman Khan made a partnership of 61 runs in 39 balls and brought Pakistan back into the match. Fakhar played an inning of 44 runs in 32 balls. On the other hand, Usman Khan returned unbeaten after scoring 37 runs. Mohammad Nawaz’s cameo inning of 21 runs also played an important role in Pakistan’s victory. Nawaz scored 21 runs in 12 balls, during which he also hit 2 fours and a six.

Zimbabwe has defeated Pakistan thrice in the last 7 T20 matches and now came close to defeating them once again. But it lost the match which lasted till the last over.

Former captain of Pakistan cricket team Babar Azam has been dismissed on the score of ‘Zero’. The Pak team is currently on a West Indies tour, where the second ODI match was played between them on August 10. Babar Azam could not even open his account in this ODI match. In this match played at Brian Lara Stadium in Trinidad, Pakistan got the first batting invitation, in which Babur came to bat on number-3, but he was out on the score of ‘0’ by playing 3 balls.

Babar Azam came to batting when opener Sam Job was dismissed for 23 runs in the 9th over. By this time, Pakistan’s score was 37/1. Jayden had taken Job’s wicket on the third ball of the seals over and after three balls he made Babar Azam clean. This is the fifth time in the career of 130 ODI innings when Babur was out without opening an account.

Return to Asia Cup squad is difficult

The Asia Cup 2025 is going to begin soon, which will start from 9 September and will run till 28 September. This tournament is to be played in T20 format, but Babur has been kept out of the Pak team from the last four T20 series. On the one hand, Babar Azam will be expecting a return to the T20 team, but being dismissed on the score of ‘0’ will not prove to be at all helpful in impressing the selectors.

Pakistan won by 5 wickets in the first ODI match against the West Indies, in which Babur scored an innings of 47 runs. Babur used to be counted among the best batsmen in the world, but now the situation has become such that Babur has not been able to hit any century in the last 28 ODI innings.
