Nowadays mouthwash has become common in everyone’s home. Many types of mouthwashes are available in shops. Some freshen breath, some strengthen teeth and some are just fragrant, but the question is whether mouthwash is really necessary for our oral health or is it just a beauty product to hide bad breath. Dental experts say that the answer is a bit difficult and to understand it, we should know a little about mouthwash and oral health. So let us know whether mouthwash really makes the mouth healthy or just hides bad breath.

Does mouthwash really make the mouth healthy?

The main function of mouthwash is to temporarily reduce bad breath and sometimes reduce plaque or bacteria, but it is important to note that mouthwash is not a substitute for brushing and flossing. This is just to help them. Experts believe that mouthwash can be beneficial only if used in the right way and at the right time.

Microorganisms in the mouth and their importance

More than 700 types of microorganisms live in our mouth. These are both good for us and some are harmful too, they maintain a delicate balance and help our immunity, if this balance is broken, it can lead to dryness in the mouth, change in taste and over time the risk of many oral diseases can increase. Therefore, it is not right to use too much mouthwash every day.

Read this also- Castor oil belly patch trend on social media, know what benefits it really gives?

Which mouthwash is useful?

According to dental specialists, mouthwash should be selected according to the right formulation. Such as therapeutic mouthwashes containing chlorhexidine or mouthwashes containing essential oils help in reducing plaque and gum inflammation. Fluoride mouthwashes strengthen tooth enamel and prevent cavities. Many mouthwashes are only for temporary breath freshening, they provide little health benefit.

Correct use of mouthwash

Dental experts say that mouthwash should be used only once a day, after brushing teeth. Prolonged or repeated use can unbalance the oral microbiota. Therefore it is better to use alcohol-free formulations.

Every 12 minutes someone in Britain is diagnosed with bowel cancer (colorectal cancer) and every year around 17,000 people lose their lives due to this disease. This cancer is the second most common cause of cancer deaths in Britain. Usually people recognize its symptoms by signs like stomach ache, change in stool habits or diarrhea and constipation, but new research shows that changes in the mouth can also be an early warning of this serious disease.

Relationship between oral bacteria and gut bacteria

Common teeth and gum problems may indicate an imbalance of bacteria in the mouth. Harmful bacteria present in the mouth can reach the intestine and cause inflammation there, which in some cases can help in the development of cancer. Certain habits, such as not brushing and flossing teeth properly, smoking, excessive alcohol consumption, and a diet high in sugar and low in fiber, can upset this delicate bacterial balance.

Also read – High Cholesterol In Young Age: Now there is a risk of cholesterol from a young age, if you want to avoid heart attack… 11 medical institutes have issued guidelines.

Signs of intestinal cancer visible in the mouth

1. Bleeding from gums – Bleeding gums is a common symptom that indicates gum disease. This is a sign of inflammation and infection, due to which harmful bacteria can enter the bloodstream and reach the digestive system. According to Harvard research, the risk of precancerous colon polyps is 17 to 21 percent higher in people with gum disease. Additionally, swollen or tender gums without visible bleeding may indicate early gingival inflammation. This condition often remains symptomless and can be ignored for years.

2. Bad breath – Persistent bad breath can also be a warning. This may be linked to a bacteria called Fusobacterium nucleatum, which has been found in gum disease as well as bowel cancer tumors. This bacteria can travel to other parts of the body through saliva or blood cells and contribute to the development of cancer by evading immunity.

3. White or yellow layer on the tongue – The white or yellow layer on the tongue is formed due to accumulation of bacteria, dirt or dead cells. It may also be a sign of poor oral hygiene, dehydration or dry mouth. Research suggests that some layers may reflect changes in oral bacteria, which may be linked to bowel cancer.

4. Losing four or more teeth – According to Harvard and the AACR, people who have lost four or more teeth have a 20 percent higher risk of precancerous colon polyps. This may be the result of long-term untreated gum disease.

Often we think that the effect of oral disease is limited only to teeth and gums. If a tooth gets infected or gums start bleeding, people ignore it considering it to be a minor problem. But a new scientific study that has come out recently has completely changed this thinking. Now researchers say that the harmful bacteria present in the mouth can gradually enter the body and damage important organs like the liver, that is, if you do not pay attention to the cleanliness of your mouth, then it can have a direct impact on the health of your liver. This study shows that even though mouth and liver seem to be different organs, there is a deep connection between the two. This news is especially important for those people who are already struggling with diabetes, obesity or the habit of drinking alcohol.

What did the study reveal?

This study has been published in a prestigious scientific journal named Nature Microbiology. In this, scientists from Munich Technical University of Germany conducted research on 86 patients. During the research, samples of saliva (sputum) and stool of the patients were examined. Scientists found that some bacteria, which are usually found only in the mouth, were present in large quantities in the intestines of people suffering from severe liver disease. These bacteria especially included Veillonella and Streptococcus.

How do oral bacteria reach the intestine and liver?

Scientists say that under normal circumstances these bacteria are not found in the intestines. But in people who have chronic liver disease, these bacteria reach the intestine from the mouth and settle there. Researchers said that these bacteria produce enzymes that damage the intestinal protective layer. When this layer becomes weak, bacteria easily enter the blood and then reach the liver directly through the blood. This increases swelling in the liver and the disease can become more serious.

What do doctors say?

According to experts, the bacteria present in the gums can enter the bloodstream through small wounds created during everyday activities such as brushing or chewing. After this, these bacteria reach the liver and cause inflammation there and put pressure on the immune system. They say that such inflammation for a long time increases the risk of fatty liver, liver fibrosis and serious liver disease.

Who are at greater risk?

According to doctors, this problem can happen to anyone, but some people are more at risk, such as diabetic patients, obese or overweight people, regular alcohol drinkers, people with weak immune systems. These people already have inflammation in the body, which gives more opportunity to bacteria to grow.

Recognize the early symptoms of oral disease

Frequent bleeding from the gums, bad breath that does not go away, swelling or pain in the gums, shrinkage of gums and loose teeth. These signs indicate that bacteria are increasing in the mouth, which can later harm the entire body.

What to do to protect the liver?

Experts say that good oral hygiene can play an important role in protecting liver health. For this, brush properly twice a day. Floss daily so that food and bacteria stuck between the teeth are removed. Get checked by a dentist from time to time. Do not take any oral problem lightly. Stay away from alcohol and adopt healthy eating habits.

People often suffer from bad breath after eating food. Bad breath can be caused by many reasons, which include certain types of food like onion and garlic. Apart from this, not cleaning teeth on time and gum problems also cause bad breath and yellowing of teeth.

Many types of measures are adopted to overcome this problem, but they do not provide proper relief. In such a situation, let us tell you today which green thing you should eat after meals to get rid of bad breath and yellowing of teeth. Due to which everything from bad breath to yellowness of teeth will go away.

Yellowness of teeth and bad breath will go away

Paan has been an important part of Indian culture since the beginning. It is considered very beneficial not only in festivals or weddings but also for our health. Many nutrients like protein, vitamins A and C, minerals, fiber, potassium and iodine are found in green betel leaves. According to experts, consuming betel leaves after meals removes bad breath and yellowness of teeth. Actually, betel leaves have many anti-bacterial properties. These antibacterial properties prevent bacteria from growing in the mouth, which provides relief from problems like bad breath, yellowing of teeth, gum pain and plaque. At the same time, by chewing paan after eating, the food stuck in the mouth also comes out easily. Apart from this, betel leaf not only removes bad breath and yellowing of teeth but also helps in enhancing taste, providing relief from problems like stomach, blood sugar and stress.

Paan also beneficial in blood sugar and stress

The anti-hyperglycemic properties present in betel leaves keep blood sugar under control. People with type 2 diabetes can chew betel leaves after meals. Apart from this, paan reduces stress and also keeps your behavior balanced. Betel leaves also help in skin problems like acne, itching and allergies. It is also considered beneficial in throat swelling and pain. In olden times, singers used to consume betel leaf to keep their voice and throat strong.

Onion is an important part of our food and many people like to eat raw. But do you know that eating raw onion can also cause many kinds of negative impacts on health? It also has the strength for us to enhance taste in food as well as to make us sick. So, today we are going to tell you what harm can be caused by eating raw onion.

Effect on stomach and digestion

Eating raw onion can cause gas and indigestion in stomach. It contains fiber, but for some people it makes the stomach a heavy and discomfort. If you already have a problem in your stomach such as gastric or acidity, then raw onion and trouble can increase.

Allergy and skin issue

Some people may be allergic to onion. This can cause problems like rashes, itching or swelling on the skin. If you see a strange reaction in the body after eating onion, contact the doctor immediately. If you do not pay attention to such problems, then it can put you in a lot of trouble by walking later.

Breath and mouth smell

It is common to smell from the mouth after eating raw onion. The sulfur compounds present in it affect the smell of the mouth. If you are with office or friends, it can create a little embeddation. So try not to eat raw onion at the time of office or while going with friends.

Effect on blood sugar

Eating raw onion can cause sudden fluctuations in blood sugar. Diabetes patients should take this care and do not eat raw onion in excess without doctor’s advice.

Heart and blood pressure

Onions contain antioxidants, which are healthy, but eating too much raw onion can affect blood pressure or heartbeat in some people.

If you want to eat onion, then it is more safe to eat roasted or light cooked onion. It is light on the stomach and is also better for health. Apart from this, if you eat raw onion, then make it in very limited quantity, as you can use it in salad, along with this you can get rid of all kinds of problems.

People resort to many types of toothpastes and mouthwashes to take care of teeth and gums, but a centuries -old technology in Ayurveda is in the discussion these days. This easy but effective domestic method is considered effective in removing mouth bacteria and maintaining hygiene. In such a situation, let us now tell you how the oil can give relief from the bad breath to swelling of the gums.

What is oil pulling and how does it work?
Oil pulling is an ancient Ayurvedic process, in which sesame or coconut oil is kept in the mouth and stirring for 10 to 20 minutes. It is believed that this oil pulls out toxic elements, bacteria and deposited debris from the surface of the mouth. After this, the oil is spit out. Including this technique in everyday routine provides relief from problems like bad odor, plaque, gum swelling and cavity.

Cavity’s rescue from bacteria
Bacteria such as Streptococcus mutations found in the mouth damage teeth. At the same time, oil pulling reduces the risk of cavity by decreasing their number.

Relief in gingivitis
Regular oil pulling can reduce gum swelling and bleeding. This reduces the risk of problems like jinjivitis.

Prevention of plaque accumulation
Rinse with oil makes the layer of plaque less on the teeth. Due to which the chances of periodontal diseases decrease.

Get rid of bad breath
The oil cleans the bacteria that causes bad odor in the mouth. The one who gets fresh breath is also without chemical mouthwash.

Chemical free option
Coconut or sesame oil used in oil pulling is natural and has neither alcohol nor any chemical substance from which it becomes a safe and natural option.

Keep these things in mind
Some people may be allergic to coconut oil, so take a doctor’s advice before use or do a patch test. Apart from this, rotating oil for 20 minutes in the beginning can cause fatigue in the jaw. In such a situation, you should do it for a short time in the beginning. Later, gradually give its time big. On the other hand, if you use a special medicine mouthwash or toothpaste, then start the oil pulling by asking the doctor.

How to Step by Step Oil Pulling

For oil pulling, high quality, organic, cold pressed and virgin coconut oil is considered the best option.

After this, take oil in a spoon and put it in the mouth. Initially you can also start with a small amount of oil.

Now rinse oil in the mouth for 15 to 20 minutes and make sure that you do not swallow this oil or do not gargle.

After rotating the oil well in the mouth, spit it in the dustbin. Then rinse the mouth with warm water and clean it.

In the last, you brush your teeth with normal toothpaste.

What is the advantage of oil pulling for 14 days?

Oil pulling is an Ayurvedic method from which you rinse oil in the mouth on an empty stomach every morning. This oil is slowly rotated inside the mouth so that it can remove bacteria and dirt. This is a natural detoxing process that helps not only the mouth but the whole body healthy. There are many advantages of oil pulling such as

1. The smell of the mouth will be away – The anti-bacterial properties found in the oil by oiling oil eliminates the bacteria of the mouth, which brings freshness in the breath and does not smell from the mouth.

2. Good effect on the whole body – Oil pulling not only for teeth, but it also has a good effect on the health of the whole body because it helps in removing toxin from the body.

3. Teeth are made white and shiny – Oil pulling the oil removes the dirt and bacteria present in the mouth. This makes the yellowing of teeth gradually decreasing and they look more clean and shiny.

4. Bleeding of gums stopped – Oil pulling reduces inflammation of the gums and has good blood circulation. This makes the gums strong and stops bleeding from them.

5. Relief in toothache – If you often have pain or sensitivity in teeth, then oil pulling also helps in this. It acts as a natural pen reliever.

Which oil is the best?

Coconut oil is considered the best for oil pulling. It contains lauric acid which is a great antibacterial and antifungal agent. If you do not have coconut oil, you can also use sesame oil or sunflower oil. To pull oil with coconut oil, wake up in the morning and put 1 teaspoon of coconut oil in the mouth on an empty stomach.
