The temple of the lying Hanuman ji, located near the holy Triveni Sangam of Prayagraj and the historical fort of Akbar, is counted among the most famous and faith-related temples of the country. Its biggest feature is that here the statue of Sankatmochan Hanuman ji is seated in sleeping posture. Every day thousands of devotees from all over the country and abroad come here to see this unique form.

The huge statue of Hanuman ji installed in the temple is considered to be about 20 feet tall. This statue is seated in the sacred sanctum sanctorum, about 6 to 7 feet below the ground level. Under his right hand is the form of Ahiravana and under his left hand is the form of Kamada Devi, which is considered a symbol of his amazing might and divinity.

According to mythology, after conquering Lanka, when Hanuman ji was extremely tired, he rested at this place in Prayagraj. Another belief also says that this divine statue was established on the instructions of Guru Vashishtha during the Ramayana period. This is the reason why this temple is considered a center of special faith for the devotees.

During monsoon, when the water level of Ganga and Yamuna rises, the flood water reaches the sanctum sanctorum of the temple and the idol of Hanuman ji gets submerged. Devotees consider it a divine coincidence of Mother Ganga washing the feet of Hanuman ji. Every year a large number of devotees reach Prayagraj to see this rare sight.

There is a crowd of devotees in the temple every day, but on Tuesday and Saturday the atmosphere here is very grand and devotional. On these days, special aarti, vermilion chola and laddus are offered. Devotees stand in queues for hours to have darshan and receive the blessings of Bajrangbali.

In Sanatan tradition, the darshan of Hanuman ji lying down is considered very auspicious. It is believed that the devotee who visits here with true faith, his life’s problems are removed and his wishes are fulfilled. Visiting this temple after bathing in Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj is considered an important part of the religious journey.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is coming to Prayagraj on a one-day visit today on Saturday (November 22), where he will take stock of the preparations for the Magh Mela, which is going to start from January 3. Apart from this, the Chief Minister will also participate in many other programs. Police and administration officials have completed all preparations for CM Yogi’s visit.

According to the information received regarding CM’s visit, CM Yogi Adityanath will stay in the city for about 2 hours 40 minutes. CM Yogi will come to the Police Line helipad at 10:00 am. After this, from 10:05 to 10:20, we will participate in a Manglik program at the hotel located on Civil Line. At 10:25, BJP MLA from City North Harshvardhan will go to Bajpayee’s Rambagh residence. CM Yogi will participate in the consecration program of the statue of Bajrangbali here. After this, CM Yogi will come to Sangam Nose at 10:50 am.

Will inspect after Ganga puja

CM Yogi will worship Ganga at Sangam Nose, CM Yogi will wish for the safe and smooth completion of Magh Mela. On this occasion, CM will also inspect the fair area. After Ganga puja, CM Yogi will get the Bade Hanuman temple built at 11:25 am. Will do darshan, worship and aarti in Hanuman temple. CM Yogi Adityanath will leave for Bamrauli from Parade Ground helipad at 12:20 pm. CM Yogi will leave for Udaipur from Bamrauli Airport at 12:40 pm.

Special preparation for Ganga worship

At the same time, pilgrim priest Dipu Mishra will perform Ganga puja for CM Yogi at Sangam Nose. He has made special preparations for Ganga puja. CM Yogi Adityanath will anoint Triveni with a silver urn. He has said that CM Yogi Adityanath is a saint.
