According to the advisory, these scams are providing a professional -like fake website, social media profiles and WhatsApp account Kedarnath and Chardham, providing helicopter booking for pilgrims, guest houses and hotel bookings for pilgrims, online cab/taxi service booking and providing services like holiday package and religious tour.

After booking from these portals and after paying, when there is no confirmation nor service, people find out that they have been fraudulent, after that the contact number also becomes unique (out of reach).

While booking a hotel or travel service for Kedarnath, Chartham and other religious places, pay attention to these things:

Verify the authenticity of the website before making any kind of payment.

Verify (verify) before clicking on any unknown or sponsored link on Google, Facebook or WhatsApp.

Cross checks only from the official government portal or trusted travel agency.

In the event of any fraud, the National Cybercrime Reporting Portal: Www.cybercrime.gov.in or 1930, call and report immediately.
