The first name in this is of Sandesh Assembly seat, where JDU’s Radha Charan Shah has won by a very narrow margin of just 27 votes. He got 80,598 votes, while his opponent Dipu Singh of RJD got 80,571 votes. BJP’s Mahesh Paswan has won in Agiaon Assembly by only 95 votes. Mahesh Paswan got 69,412 votes, while his rival Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) (Mukti) candidate Shiv Prakash Ranjan was very close with 69,317 votes.

Very close fight in Forbesganj
Apart from this, the third fierce contest was seen in Forbesganj assembly seat, where Congress candidate Manoj Biswas won by a margin of 221 votes. Manoj Vishwas got a total of 1,20,114 votes, while BJP candidate Vidya Sagar Keshari stood second with 1,19,893 votes. The fourth interesting contest was on Bodhgaya seat. Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) candidate Kumar Sarvjeet has won from Bodhgaya by a margin of 881 votes. He got a total of 1,00,236 votes, while LJP (Ram Vilas) candidate Shyamdev Paswan got 99,355 votes.

Tough competition seen in Bakhtiyarpur
A tough contest was also seen on the fifth assembly seat Bakhtiyarpur. Where Arun Kumar (son of Shatrughan Sao) of Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) won by a margin of 981 votes. He got 88,520 votes, while RJD’s Anirudh Kumar got 87,539 votes. Very close contest was seen on these five seats.

This time BJP has succeeded in winning 89 seats in Bihar elections. Whereas, Nitish Kumar’s JDU got 85 seats. RJD has been able to win only 25 seats, this is also surprising because RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav was declared the CM face by the Grand Alliance.

This lead of Lok Janshakti Party has increased the hopes of Chirag Paswan and his party getting this seat. Other candidates like Anirudh Kumar (RJD), Balmiki Singh (Jan Suraj Party), Deepak Bhai Patel (BSP) and others are all trailing behind Arun Kumar.

Lok Janshakti Party contesting elections on 29 seats

This time Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) has entered the electoral fray with the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). The party has been given 29 seats in Bihar, which are in the districts of Patna, Muzaffarpur, Gaya, Kishanganj, Purnia, Katihar, Khagaria, Vaishali, Rohtas, Nawada, Saran, Sitamarhi, East Champaran, Saharsa, Siwan, Begusarai, Bhagalpur, Buxar, Jehanabad and Aurangabad.

How was LJP’s performance in the last elections?

In 2020, LJP had fielded candidates on 135 seats, but only the Matihani seat of Begusarai was won. At that time Rajkumar Singh became the only MLA of the party. In 2020, the party got 5.66 percent votes in the state. Whereas in 2015, LJP was a part of NDA and it got only two seats.

History of Muslim representation in Bihar

The history of Muslim representation in Bihar has been full of ups and downs. In the 1985 elections, the maximum number of 34 Muslim MLAs were elected, but at that time elections were held on a total of 324 seats in United Bihar. In contrast, in 2005, only 16 Muslim MLAs could win.

A total of 19 Muslim MLAs were elected in the 2020 elections of 243 seats in Bihar, which included 8 from RJD, 4 from Congress, 5 from AIMIM, 1 from CPI(ML) and 1 from BSP.

If we look at history, in the first assembly elections of 1951-52, 24 Muslims became MLAs. After this, 25 MLAs were elected in 1957, 21 in 1962, 18 in 1967, 19 in 1969, 25 each in 1972 and 1977, 28 in 1980 and 34 in 1985.
