<p style="text-align: justify;">North India is in the grip of extreme heat. On Monday (April 27), Banda district of UP was the hottest place in the country. The maximum temperature recorded here was 47.6°C. According to the Meteorological Department, this was the highest temperature recorded in the month of April in Banda district of Eastern UP. Earlier, on 30 April 2022 and 25 April 2026, a temperature of 47.4°C was recorded in Banda. Apart from Banda, Jhansi was not included in the list of cities where the maximum temperature crossed 45 degrees Celsius. On April 27, a temperature of 45.2°C was recorded in Jhansi. </p>

<h3 style="text-align: justify;">Dust storm in Delhi at night</h3>
<p style="text-align: justify;">There was a dust storm and strong winds in the country&#8217;s capital Delhi on Monday night.  The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for rain, thunder and strong winds from Monday to Thursday. It is extremely hot in Delhi, the temperature has reached 42.3 degrees Celsius.   </p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The Meteorological Department has predicted the minimum temperature for Tuesday to be around 28 degrees Celsius and the maximum temperature to be around 42 degrees Celsius. Thunderstorms and rain are expected to provide some relief from the scorching heat. </p>
<h3 style="text-align: justify;">Chance of rain from Tuesday to April 30</h3>
<p style="text-align: justify;">There is a possibility of dust storm, thunder and rain from Tuesday to April 30, for which a special yellow alert has been issued for April 29. Skymet&#8217;s Mahesh Palawat said, &#8216;A cyclonic circulation is forming over central Pakistan, north-western Rajasthan, Punjab and Haryana. It is currently strong and moving towards north-eastern India. There may be rain in parts of Rajasthan and Haryana tonight and it is likely to reach Delhi on Tuesday and remain active till April 30. </p>
<h3 style="text-align: justify;">Where is the highest temperature in Delhi?</h3>

Safdarjung recorded a minimum temperature of 25.0 degrees Celsius, about 1.2 degrees above normal, while Palam recorded a minimum temperature of 26.0 degrees Celsius, about 1.1 degrees above normal.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The minimum temperature was recorded at 23.6 degrees Celsius in Lodhi Road, which was about 0.6 degrees above normal, 25.8 degrees Celsius in Ridge, which was 0.9 degrees above normal and 24.4 degrees Celsius in Ayanagar, which was about 0.7 degrees above normal. </p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">According to the Meteorological Department, &#8216;During the last 24 hours, Delhi experienced westerly winds at a speed of 15-20 km per hour, reaching a speed of 37 km per hour.&#8217; Meanwhile, the city&#8217;s air quality remains in the &#8216;moderate&#8217; category, with an air quality index (AQI) of 197. As per CPCB standards, an AQI of 0-50 is &#8216;good&#8217;, 51-100 is &#8216;satisfactory&#8217;, 101-200 is considered &#8216;moderate&#8217;, 201-300 &#8216;bad&#8217;, 301-400 &#8216;very bad&#8217; and 401-500 &#8216;severe&#8217;.</p>
