Pakistan and Bangladesh Paper Leak: Controversy is continuously increasing in India regarding paper leak of NEET and other competitive examinations. Meanwhile, questions have been raised regarding the examination system in neighboring countries Pakistan and Bangladesh also. After the confirmation of the leak of AS-level Maths exam paper of Cambridge International School in Pakistan, there is increased concern about the future of thousands of students there. Claims of the paper already going viral on social media and the same questions appearing in the examination have intensified the debate on the credibility of the examination system. After this, the news of paper leak has increased in Pakistan and Bangladesh also. In such a situation, let us now tell you whether papers are leaked in Pakistan and Bangladesh like India and in what pattern the exams are conducted there.

How are examinations conducted in Pakistan?

A large number of students in Pakistan study O-level and A-level under Cambridge International Education. O-levels are considered equivalent to Class 10-11, while AS and A-levels are considered advanced studies of Class 12. Through these examinations, students take admission in universities of Pakistan as well as abroad. CIE, part of Cambridge University Press and Assessment, conducts examinations in more than 160 countries around the world. The exam pattern in Pakistan is based on written examination, in which coded papers are conducted for different subjects. Strict rules are in place to maintain confidentiality before the examination. But in recent years, allegations of paper leaks have come to light several times. Earlier, similar allegations were made regarding the AS Level Maths examination held on April 29. After investigation, the board accepted that there may be truth in the claims of the leak.

Such cases have also come to light in Bangladesh

In Bangladesh too, cases of paper leaks of board examinations and recruitment examinations have been coming to light from time to time. There have been allegations of question papers in secondary and higher secondary level examinations going viral on social media and messaging platforms. In many cases the government had to cancel the examinations and also increase the investigation. Experts say that there are laws regarding this in both Pakistan and Bangladesh, but influencing them remains a big challenge. Because of this, incidents of paper leaks come to light again and again.

How strict are the laws in other countries?

There are very strict laws in force in many countries of the world regarding paper leaks. Recently Public Examination Act 2024 has been implemented in India. Under this, if found guilty, there is a provision of 3 to 10 years in jail and a fine of up to Rs 1 crore. Arrangements have also been made to confiscate property if organized gangs are involved. Whereas in China, leaking or copying paper in the national examination Gaokao can lead to a jail term of up to 7 years. AI cameras, face recognition and even drones are used at the examination centers there.
