This month of December was one of fear and silence for Hindus in the neighboring country Bangladesh. The brutal killing of many Hindus in just 10 days has raised concerns about regional security and human rights. Families locked in their homes, houses destroyed by fire and incidents of murder even among security forces are raising the question whether the safety of minorities is being ensured in the neighboring country and what steps can the Indian government take to stop it. Let us understand.

How many innocents were killed in 10 days?

This series of attacks on minority Hindus in Bangladesh became most intense in December. First, 27-year-old Dipu Chandra Das was beaten to death in Mymensingh district and later burnt. Authorities later said the blasphemy charge was false. A week later, 29-year-old Amrit Mandal was beaten to death by a mob in Pangsha of Rajbari district. The third incident took place in the same Mymensingh district, where 40-year-old Bajendra Biswas was shot by his Muslim colleague Noman Mian.

Dipu Chandra Das – False allegation took his life

Dipu Chandra Das worked in a garment factory in Bhaluka. Rumors were spread against him that he made objectionable remarks. At around 9 pm, a crowd of hundreds of people caught him and beat him brutally. After his death the mob tied him to a tree and burnt him. This incident is being considered the most gruesome example of increasing violence against Hindus in Bangladesh.

Amrit Mandal- Mob lynched

A week after Deepu’s murder, Amrit Mandal was murdered in Pangsha of Rajbari district. At night, some people along with him went to Shahidul’s house, then the local people raised the alarm of dacoit-robber and the mob caught hold of Amrit and started beating him. Amrit died in the hospital after being badly injured by kicks, punches and sticks.

Bajendra Biswas – No one is safe even in security forces

Bajendra Biswas, 40, who was a member of the Ansar force, was shot dead by his Muslim companion Noman Mian in Bhaluka, Mymensingh district. Biswas, posted at Sultana Sweaters Factory, became the target while on duty. His own companion shot him in the thigh and Biswas died. This incident shows that now the security personnel engaged in protecting the minorities are also in danger.

Attacks on Hindu families and burning of houses

Apart from the killings, houses of 5-6 Hindu families were set on fire in Pirojpur district. At night, when the families were sleeping, the miscreants also locked the doors from outside. The families managed to escape with their lives. Such incidents show that minority communities in Bangladesh are under constant threat.

Indian Government’s intervention and possible steps

Experts believe that the Indian government should exert diplomatic pressure to ensure the safety of minorities in Bangladesh. This could include high-level talks, joint security monitoring, and applying pressure through human rights groups. Additionally, a message can also be sent by taking temporary steps on visa policy, trade and cultural cooperation for Bangladesh in India.

Bangladesh Unrest: Bangladesh is currently going through a period of political unrest and violence. This country is now drenched in blood. Since former Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina left the country, violence is showing no sign of stopping here. Amidst this turmoil, let us know which city of Bangladesh is the most expensive and how much land is available here.

Most expensive city of Bangladesh

The most expensive city of Bangladesh is Dhaka. As the political, economic and administrative center of the country, Dhaka largely dominates the real estate market of Bangladesh. It is not only the most expensive city in Bangladesh, but is also counted among the most expensive cities in South Asia in terms of land prices and cost of living.

How is land measured in Bangladesh?

Let us tell you that in Bangladesh, land is usually measured in Katha. One story is approximately 720 square feet. The price depends on the location, security, infrastructure and whether the land is commercial or agricultural.

Price in posh and VIP areas

The most premium areas of Dhaka are Gulshan, Banani and Baridhara. Let us tell you that Gulshan is considered the gold standard for luxury life and security. Land prices in these areas range from ₹2.8 crore to ₹9.2 crore per katha (BDT 4-13 crore). These areas attract people because of high security and very good infrastructure.

middle class residential areas

Land prices are slightly lower in well-developed but less exclusive areas like Dhanmondi and Uttara. But these are still expensive according to national standards. The cost of land here ranges between ₹ 60 lakh to ₹ 2 crore per story (BDT 85 lakh-2.8 crore).

Outskirts and new areas

Land becomes much cheaper in the outskirts of Dhaka and in newly built residential zones. In these outer areas, residential plots are available for ₹3.5 lakh to ₹10.5 lakh per story (BDT 5-15 lakh). But the prices of commercial land in prime business areas of Dhaka are very high. Rates here start from ₹35 lakh per story (BDT 50 lakh) and often go much higher depending on location and road connectivity.

In the evening of Friday (5 September 2025) in Dhaka, the central office of Bangladesh’s ethnic party (JAPA) was attacked by miscreants and set fire. This incident took place in Ramna police station area of the capital. The fire department received information at 7 pm that unknown people set fire to the office after throwing brick and stones. This is the second time in the last 10 days when the Japa office was targeted.

Japa General Secretary Shamim Haider Patwari alleged that the attack is a conspiracy of the Gono Rights Council. He demanded a judicial inquiry and cancellation of registration of Gono Rights Council. Japa Presidium member Rezaul Karim also accused the Shahabag rally organizers of conspiracy to attack. He says that Yunus’s interim government failed to stop the crowd and failed to provide security.

What did the Gono Rights Council say on the allegations?

The Gono Rights Council denied these allegations and said that they had nothing to do with the attack. Awami League alleges that the Yunus government is responsible for the incident. The attacks are being carried out with the help of Younis’s interim government. Crowd is spreading terrorism under the interim government in Bangladesh. This attack is a conspiracy to weaken democratic system and political parties.

Sufi saint’s body insulted

Another shocking incident came to light in Rajbari district. A group of radical Islamists attacked the dargah of local Sufi saint Nura Pagla. His body was removed from the tomb and burnt in front of everyone. After this incident, there was a violent clash between the saint’s followers and the Islamists. Radical groups describe Sufi practices as non-Islamic.

Increasing violence in Bangladesh

Violence has increased in Bangladesh since the removal of the Awami League government in August 2024 and the interim government of Muhammad Yunus. Meanwhile, the attacks on pro -Hasina parties and individuals have intensified. With political instability, religious extremism is also coming to the fore.

New Delhi . The Indian cricket team’s proposed Bangladesh tour in August 2025 is under uncertainty. After the change of power in Bangladesh, it is difficult to get the approval of the Government of India due to the turbulent atmosphere and concerns about the safety of the players. According to sources, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) may soon take a final decision regarding this tour.

security concern became the main reason

There is an atmosphere of political instability and violent demonstrations since the fall of Sheikh Hasina government in August 2024 in Bangladesh. There are reports of atrocities and unrest on Hindus on social media. In such a situation, the Government of India does not want to take any risk about the safety of the players.

series not canceled , Possibility of postponing

A BCB official said that instead of canceling the tour, it may be agreed to postpone it. BCB has also postponed the bidding of media rights for the series, which further strengthens the possibility of postponement.

 proposed schedule

As part of the tour, the Indian team had to play a series of three ODIs and three T20 matches in Dhaka from August 17. This tour is Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli was also special for his return to ODI format, as both have retired from Test and T20.

 interaction between BCB and BCCI

BCB President Aminul Islam said that positive discussion is going on with BCCI, but the approval of the Government of India is awaited. If the tour does not take place in August, it will be considered to be held at any other time in future.

 Waiting for official announcement

BCCI has not issued any official statement yet, but the situation is expected to be clear by next week. If the tour averts, Rohit-Kohli’s fans may have to wait more to return to the field.

Bangladesh unrest: Since the coup of Sheikh Hasina government in Bangladesh, the situation is not taking the name of normal. The new news is that the Army Chief of Bangladesh has ordered his soldiers to gather in Dhaka. Why this order has been given, it has not been clear but if we look at the events of the last few weeks, then this order can be a sign of a big event.

According to a report by North-East News, the Bangladesh Army on Friday directed an unknown number of armored vehicles and 100 soldiers from each brigade to reach Dhaka. In this report, sources have been quoted as saying that the soldiers of the 9th division at Savar have also started reaching Dhaka.

This decree of the army may be related to these two incidents
Recently, two such incidents have taken place, due to which the army may have taken this step. A few days ago an old video of Asif Mahmud Shazib Bhuiyan, a student leader and advisor to the Ministry of Rural Development and Cooperation, appeared, in which he was seen claiming that Army Chief General War-U-Zaman reluctantly agreed to give Bangladesh’s reins to Mohammad Yunus.

Earlier, another student leader Hasanat Abdullah publicly threatened to launch a movement against the army after a secret meeting with General Zaman on 11 March. This is because the Army Chief had talked about Sheikh Hasina’s party ‘Awami League’ coming back into the politics of Bangladesh and contesting elections.

Why did the Army Chief take this step?
Everything is not looking right between the Army Chief and the leaders who are currently with the power of Bangladesh. It has been revealed in many reports that the Army Chief Younis is constantly warning the administration to control the situation in Bangladesh. In such a situation, the student leaders are feared that the Army Chief is once again making way for Sheikh Hasina’s Awami League. This is the reason that people who have the reins of Bangladesh in their hands are trying to harm the image of the army. In view of this, the Army Chief has already started his preparations to deal with a big movement. Instructions for the submission of soldiers in Dhaka are being seen in terms of this preparation.
