Although this decision is for Chinese citizens, it will also affect those Indian students and passengers who want to go in connection with education or business in China. Relations between India and China are gradually improving and the result of this is that now the doors of travel and education between the two countries are reopening.

After the introduction of Kovid-19 in March 2020, the Government of India had temporarily stopped all tourist visas keeping security in mind. After this, the Galwan Valley incident in June 2020 worsened the relations between the two countries. For about 4 years, other trips except for business and education related trips to come to a standstill.

What is a new update now?

The Indian Embassy in Beijing has informed that a new protocol will now be adopted for visa application. If you want to withdraw the passport, you have to give a ‘passport withdrawal letter’. The tension between India and China is now gradually decreasing. Forces have retreated from areas such as Depsang, Demchok, Galwan and Pangong Lakes. After the leaders of the two countries met in Russia in October 2024, it was decided that direct flights and religious trips would be resumed to increase the contact between the people.
