NEET Fee Refund Process: After the cancellation of NEET UG 2026 exam, the National Testing Agency has started the process of fee refund for the students. The examination held on May 3 was canceled due to controversy over paper leak and alleged irregularities, after which lakhs of students were waiting for the refund of fees. Now the agency has made it clear that no extra fee will be charged from the students for the exam and the application fee already deposited will be refunded.

For this, NTA has made preparations to provide the option of updating bank account on the official website. Students will be able to update their bank details by visiting neet.nta.nic.in, after which the fees will be transferred directly to their account. According to the agency, the refund process can be completed within 24 to 48 hours of submitting the bank details.

This is how you will get fee refund

To refund the fees, students will first have to visit the official website of NEET. A link for fee refund or updated bank details will appear there. After this, you will have to login to the portal with the help of application number and people details. After login, students will have to fill their bank account number, IFSC code and name of account holder carefully. After submitting the information, the fee will be transferred to the same account. NTA has advised students not to make any mistakes while filling the bank details, otherwise the refund may get delayed.

Relief for those filling forms from cyber cafes

Many students had filled the form through cyber café or common service centre. In such a situation, the students were afraid that the fees would go back to the account from which the payment was made. Regarding this also, NTA has clarified that candidates can update the bank account of their choice. If students wish, they can also give the account information of their parents, so that the refund reaches the correct account.

You will not have to pay fees again for re-exam.

NTA has already made it clear that students will not need to apply again or deposit fees for the NEET UG re-exam to be held on June 21. Only the old registration will remain valid and admit cards will be issued directly. Re-exam will be conducted in offline mode from 2:00 pm to 5:15 pm. This time too, more than 22 lakh students are expected to appear in the exam, although the medium of the exam will not be changed, but students were given the opportunity to change the exam city.

Chance to change exam center also

After the paper leak controversy, many students have returned to their homes or other cities. Keeping this in view, NTA had opened a separate window for changing the examination city. Students can choose the new city as per their convenience. However, the final entrance examination center will be decided on the basis of seat availability. Whereas for NEET UG 2026, different fees were charged from different categories of students. General category candidates had to pay Rs 1700, OBC candidates had to pay Rs 1600, while SC-ST candidates had to pay Rs 1000. Rs 9,500 application fee was charged from foreign candidates, now this amount will be refunded.
