On January 23, due to Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Jayanti, Saraswati Puja, Veer Surendrasai Jayanti and Basant Panchami, the Reserve Bank of India has announced bank holidays in some states. Due to these opportunities, banking services will be affected in many places today.

Banks are going to remain closed in Tripura, Odisha and West Bengal. If you live in these states, it would be better to cancel the plan of going to the bank today. However, except these three states, banks will remain open normally in the rest of the country.

Since January 24, 2026 will be the fourth Saturday of the month, all banks will remain closed. There will be a weekly holiday in banks due to 25th January being Sunday. After this, a decision has been taken to close banking services in most of the cities of the country on the occasion of Republic Day on 26 January. Due to which bank functioning will be affected at many places for three consecutive days.

Online services will remain operational

Despite the bank being closed, facilities like UPI, mobile banking, internet banking and ATM will remain operational as before. You will be able to do things like money transactions, bill payment, shopping like normal days. However, tasks that require going to the bank branch will not be possible.
