NCP (Sharadchandra Pawar faction) leader and MLA Rohit Pawar has given a big statement. He said that if both the Nationalist Congress parties had merged during the tenure of Ajit Pawar, he would have 100 percent become the Chief Minister of Maharashtra in the 2029 assembly elections. Rohit Pawar said this while talking to the media after voting during the Baramati assembly by-election. He said, “After the death of Ajit Dada, the question of merger no longer arises, because he was the main leader who took this process forward.”

The leader of Sharad Pawar faction further said, “It was because of respect and emotional connection with Ajit Dada that he joined the election campaign. This does not mean that any political merger is going to happen. It was a completely emotional decision.

‘People are still remembering Ajit Dada’s working style’

Rohit Pawar also said that Ajit Dada was a clear and tough speaking leader, but was very simple by nature. He paid attention to every small and big thing and had the ability to take quick decisions. The people of Baramati are still remembering his working style. He appealed to the voters to vote in large numbers, even if they have to go to distant booths.

Possibility of ‘Pawar vs Pawar’ in 2029

Rohit Pawar indicated that there could be a ‘Pawar vs Pawar’ fight in Baramati in 2029. Although he said that this is not the will of the public, but some people are trying to create such a situation. He also clarified that he himself will not contest elections from Baramati and will continue his political innings from Karjat-Jamkhed, from where he has contested elections in 2019 and 2024.
