Pakistan lost by 104 runs in the first test against Bangladesh. This is Pakistan’s biggest defeat in terms of runs against Bangladesh in Test cricket. Some Pakistani fans are not able to digest this defeat, but former cricketer Basit Ali has lashed out at his own team. He clearly said that Pakistan cricket is in a dying state.

Ever since Shan Masood became the captain of Pakistan Test team, he has played 15 Test matches and won only four. Basit Ali scolded captain Shan Masood for this record. Even in the last three test matches played against Bangladesh, Pakistan team has faced consecutive defeats.

Seeing the condition of Pakistan team, Basit Ali said that there should be a 2-tier system in Test cricket. He said, “After 2027, a two-tier system will be necessary, otherwise Test cricket will die. It is fun to watch Test matches of Australia, England, New Zealand, India, South Africa. But if Pakistan, Bangladesh and West Indies play such cricket, then the two-tier system will be put to shame.”

Basit Ali reminded the times of Inzamam ul Haq and Misbah ul Haq. He told that under the captaincy of Misbah-ul-Haq, the Pakistan team lost 19 times in 56 test matches, whereas under the captaincy of Inzamam, it lost 11 times in 31 matches. Basit told that under his captaincy the Pakistan team used to go out and win, but Shan Masood is not captaincy material.

He said, “Shan Masood has lost 11 out of 15 Test matches under his captaincy. I have no problem with his batting, he is a very good boy but he is not captaincy material. It is the fault of those who made him captain.”

Basit Ali said in an angry attitude that the captain has a very big role. He has to decide with which bowler to get the opposition batsmen out. Questioning the decisions of Shan Masood, he said that Noman Ali is not a bowler who should be handed the ball after 35 overs.
