BCCI Scrap A+ Category From Central Contracts: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is preparing to streamline the list of central contracts for men’s cricket. BCCI can now abolish the A+ category introduced in 2018 to simplify the central contracts of players. by BCCI Players awarded central contracts were placed in four categories. In which A+ category cricketers get seven crore rupees annually, A category ones get five crores, B category ones get three crore rupees and C category ones get one crore rupees. At the same time, now players will be kept only in A, B and C categories.

BCCI will eliminate A+ category from central contract

BCCI is going to abolish the A+ category which started in the year 2018 to simplify the central contract list of players. Last time only four players were included in the A+ category, in which the names of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja were present. Among these four players, Bumrah is the only cricketer who plays in all three formats for India. At the same time, Rohit and Virat play only ODI, while Jadeja plays Test and ODI.

There will be no cut in Bumrah’s salary

BCCI is going to streamline the structure of Central Contract to make it easier. There are very few players who play in all three formats. At the same time, Jasprit Bumrah is one of the few players who plays in all formats. Therefore, they will be kept in the top category and there will be no cut in their salary. Whose approval will be given in the next meeting of the Apex Council.

However, a board official told PTI that there will be no cut in the salary of a player like Bumrah, who leads the fast bowling in all three formats, even if he is out of some matches due to workload management.

Rohit and Virat can be included in B category

It is almost certain that India’s Test and ODI captain Shubman Gill will remain in A category. After retiring from Test and T20 International, Rohit and Virat play only ODI format. Both of these can be included in B category. However, nothing can be said right now about how much money Rohit-Virat will get if they are kept in B category? According to sources, now ‘A’ category players can be given Rs 7 crore annually.
