Vaibhav Sooryavanshi Reveals His IPL Dream: Like every year, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) organized the Naman Awards ceremony this year too on Sunday i.e. 15th March. Young cricket sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi also attended the event held in New Delhi. During this program, Vaibhav was invited on stage along with Sanju Samson, Hardik Pandya and Abhishek Sharma, where commentator Harsha Bhogle had a special conversation with these players. During this conversation, Bhogle asked Vaibhav a question which made a lot of headlines.

Want to break Chris Gayle’s record of 175 runs – Vaibhav Suryavanshi

During the Naman Awards ceremony, Harsh Bhogle asked Vaibhav Suryavanshi which record he would like to break in the IPL? In response, this young explosive batsman from Bihar told about his dream with great confidence. Vaibhav said that he wants to break Chris Gayle’s historical record of 175 runs in IPL.

Let us tell you, West Indies’ legendary batsman Chris Gayle had made this record against Pune Warriors India while playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) during IPL 2013. He scored unbeaten 175 runs in just 66 balls at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, which till date is the highest individual score in the history of T20 cricket.

Will Vaibhav Sooryavanshi achieve this feat in the #TATAIPL 2026

Vaibhav Suryavanshi created a stir in the Under-19 World Cup

Vaibhav Suryavanshi had created history by scoring 175 runs in just 80 balls against England in the ICC Under-19 World Cup final of 2026. He hit 15 fours and the same number of sixes in this innings. Thanks to this explosive innings of Vaibhav, Team India got a spectacular victory in that title match. Even before this record innings, Vaibhav Suryavanshi has already made many records in his name. Vaibhav is the youngest batsman to score a century in IPL. He created a sensation by scoring a century in just 35 balls for Gujarat Titans in the 2025 IPL season.

The BCCI Naman Awards 2026 held in New Delhi witnessed a gathering of legends and rising new stars of Indian cricket. In this ceremony, players who performed brilliantly at international, domestic and junior levels were honored. The biggest achievement of the ceremony was ‘Colonel C.K. Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award’, which honored former greats Roger Binny, Rahul Dravid and Mithali Raj for their contributions.
