Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who plays for Rajasthan Royals in IPL, said that his main goal is to make the team champion this time. He said that if his performance is good then the entire team will benefit from it. He believes that in a big tournament like IPL, every player’s dream is to win the trophy. Made a big name at a young age

Vaibhav Suryavanshi has made his mark in the world of cricket at a very young age. By batting brilliantly in IPL 2025, he made the record of becoming the youngest centurion of the tournament. His achievement had attracted the attention of the cricket world.

Apart from this, he also performed brilliantly at the Under-19 level. He played an explosive inning of 175 runs in 80 balls against England in the final of ICC Under-19 World Cup. Thanks to his innings, India won the Under-19 World Cup title for a record sixth time.

Got IPL contract at the age of 13

Vaibhav Suryavanshi got big recognition in 2024 when Rajasthan Royals signed him for Rs 1.1 crore. At that time he was only 13 years old and became one of the youngest players to get an IPL contract. He told that the scouting team of Rajasthan Royals was keeping an eye on him for a long time during domestic cricket and Under-19 matches. After performing well in the trials, he got a place in the team.

Vaibhav also told that he got to learn a lot in his first camp with the team. Especially he got a lot of guidance from Indian cricket legend Rahul Dravid. BCCI Naman Awards 2026: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) honored India’s five World Cup winning teams by calling them on the same stage. All the 5 World Cup winning Indian teams were honored at the BCCI Naman Awards 2026 held in New Delhi on Sunday, March 15. From the winning team of T20 World Cup 2026 to the winning team of Women’s ODI World Cup and Under-19 Cricket World Cup, the Indian team was also present here.

First, IPL Chairman Arun Singh Dhumal honored Team India, the winner of the Under-19 Cricket World Cup under the leadership of Ayush Mhatre. After that, the Indian players who won the Champions Trophy 2025 were honored, during which Suryakumar Yadav and Gautam Gambhir were also present on the stage.

BCCI Vice President and Joint Secretary of the Board Prabhtej Bhatia honored India’s Women’s ODI World Cup winning team. In the end, Team India, the winner of T20 World Cup 2026, also got the honour. On the other hand, Indian women’s cricket team’s star opening batsman Smriti Mandhana was chosen as BCCI’s Women Cricketer of the Year.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is going to honor Shubman Gill with the Men’s Cricketer of the Year Award. The list of BCCI Naman Awards 2026 was released on Saturday, in which Shubman Gill will receive the Men’s Cricketer of the Year and Smriti Mandhana will receive the Best Women’s International Cricketer of the Year award. This awards ceremony will take place on Sunday, March 15.

BCCI Naman Awards was started in 2006-07, in which the best performing cricketers in the last one year are honoured. The Best International Cricketer of the Year Award in the men’s category is also called the Polly Umrigar Award.

Shubman Gill is currently the captain of India’s Test and ODI team and this will be the second time when Gill will be honored with the Polly Umrigar Award. He scored 983 runs in 9 Test matches in the year 2025 and was the batsman who scored the most Test runs last year. During this period, he scored 754 runs in the 5-match series against England. Apart from this, he had scored 490 runs in 11 ODI matches.

On the other hand, Smriti Mandhana is going to receive the Best Female International Cricketer award for the second consecutive year and this will be the fifth time that Mandhana will be honored with this award.

Gill did not play T20 World Cup

Shubman Gill was dropped from the T20 team just before the T20 World Cup 2026. He was dropped due to poor form and he was failing to play big innings consistently in T20 since the beginning of 2025. He had to pay for this in the form of being dropped from the T20 World Cup squad. Remind that in the final of T20 World Cup 2026, India had registered a historic victory by defeating New Zealand by 96 runs.
