Let us tell you that the Election Commission has announced the dates of elections to be held in five states on Sunday (15 March). Due to the election dates, a plan was made to release the IPL schedule in different phases. The first phase of the schedule was announced last Wednesday (March 11).

Rajeev Shukla said, “Election dates have been announced. Voting will be held in a single phase at four places and in two phases in West Bengal. Now the IPL schedule will be released soon.”

This year (2026), elections will be held in a total of 5 states including one Union Territory, for which the Election Commission has announced the dates. These states include West Bengal, Assam, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Puducherry. Let us tell you that IPL matches are played in West Bengal, Tamil Nadu and Assam.

More matches are held in West Bengal and Tamil Nadu, whereas fewer matches are held in Assam. Indian Premier League matches will be held in Kolkata (Eden Garden Stadium) in West Bengal, Chennai (M Chidambaram Stadium) in Tamil Nadu and Guwahati in Assam.

Election date in five states

Apart from West Bengal, voting will be held in only one phase in all four places. Voting will take place in two phases in Bengal.

Assam voting- 09 ​​April, results- 04 May

Tamil Nadu- 09 April, Results- 04 May

Kerala- 09 April, results-04 May

Puducherry- 09 April, Results- 04 May

West Bengal – 23 and 29 April, results – 04 May.
