According to scientists and health experts, intoxication does not depend on what you mixed, but on how much alcohol (Ethanol) you put in the body. Science is very clear that the flavor of the drink can change, the taste can change, but the body absorbs only the total amount of ethanol.

Whether you drink beer mixed with whiskey or in separate sips, the effect is the same, which determines the total alcohol present in that peg. Every variety of liquor contains different amounts of alcohol. This quantity is called ABV Alcohol by Volume. That is, what percentage of alcohol is present in a drink.

For example, normal beer has an ABV of 5% to 12%. The ABV of wine ranges between 8% to 15%. Whiskey contains 40% to 50% alcohol. Whiskey with 42.8% ABV is generally available in India.

Rum, vodka, gin, tequila and brandy also contain about 35% to 50% alcohol. At the same time, 20%-40% alcohol is found in country liquor, which can vary considerably depending on the place and method.

Now suppose you drank a glass of beer which contained 5% alcohol, and then drank a shot of whiskey which contained 42.8% alcohol. The body does not mix the two, nor does it matter in which order you drink them. The total amount of ethanol consumed by your body will determine the intensity of intoxication.

People often feel that it has become too much after mixing because the flavor changes, which increases the speed of drinking. The taste of different drinks is light and heavy, due to which the quantity becomes more. Pre-existing misconceptions in the mind, which is called placebo effect, make us feel the effect in an exaggerated manner.

Wine experts believe that there is no problem in mixing, the only problem is how much is drunk. If you drink a high-ABV drink after beer, the total alcohol will increase and the intoxication will be stronger, but this is not due to mixing, but to the quantity.
