Abhishek Banerjee raised the issue from Delhi Police’s letter

In fact, Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Abhishek Banerjee mentioned the official letter issued by Delhi Police in which Bangla is written to Bangladeshi language. He wrote on the social media platform X, “For the last several months, Bengali speaking people are being targeted, harassed and detained in BJP ruled states.”

Bangla -speaking people detained in Jharsuguda district of Odisha

The development came to light after a political dispute on Wednesday (July 9, 2025), when the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) in West Bengal accused the BJP -led Odisha government of illegally detaining Bangla -speaking migrant workers in Jharsuguda district despite legitimate documents.
