Bharti Airtel is now preparing to take its digital lending business to a new and bigger scale. The company has announced that it will invest ₹20,000 crore in the next few years through its NBFC arm Airtel Money Limited, to create a strong position in the digital credit market. Of this total ₹20,000 crore investment, about 70% of the funding will be done by Airtel itself, while 30% will come from the promoter group — Bharti Enterprises. The most important milestone was that Airtel Money got NBFC license from Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on 13 February 2026, which gives regulatory approval to this expansion plan.
