Bollywood actress Nusrat Bharucha reached Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga temple in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday. He had darshan of Baba Mahakal on the auspicious occasion of Putrada Ekadashi. During this, Nusrat participated in Divya Bhasma Aarti and took blessings of Baba Mahakal. She was seen completely absorbed in devotion in the temple premises.

This was Nusrat Bharucha’s second visit to Baba Mahakal’s court. During Bhasma Aarti, she sat in Nandi Hall and was seen completely immersed in Shiva devotion. On this special occasion, the priests of the temple presented her a scarf inscribed with Mahakal as Prasad, after receiving which the actress appeared very happy.

After the darshan, Nusrat Bharucha praised the arrangements of the temple. He said that despite such a huge crowd, everything was very smooth and organized. Nusrat especially praised the water container system of the temple.

Nusrat told that in this system, water is offered directly to the Jyotirlinga through pipes, which provides the facility to the devotees to offer water without standing in long queues. According to the actress, she feels deep peace and positive energy after seeing Baba Mahakal.

Bhasma Aarti is considered to be the most special and sacred aarti of Mahakal temple. This Aarti takes place in Brahma Muhurta in which Lord Shiva is decorated with ashes. In Bhasma Aarti, Lord Shiva is decorated with the ashes of the pyre brought from the crematorium. Apart from this, ash of Gohri, Peepal, Palash, Shami and Bel wood is also mixed in it. Bhasma Aarti is considered to have deep mythological and religious significance.

According to religious beliefs, during Bhasma Aarti, women wear a veil or cover on their heads. It is believed that at that time Baba Mahakal is in formless form, hence women are neither allowed to attend the Aarti nor to see it.
