Former Chief Minister of Haryana and current Leader of Opposition Bhupendra Singh Hooda has faced a big problem. A case will be filed against him in the Manesar land scam case. The Punjab-Haryana High Court has given this order while rejecting the petition of Bhupendra Hooda.

Actually, senior Congress leader Bhupendra Singh Hooda had filed a petition and said that the remaining accused in this case have got a stay from the Supreme Court. It is not appropriate to conduct a trial against him alone. Punjab-Haryana High Court has rejected this petition. Now charges will be framed against Hooda in the CBI Special Court of Panchkula.

CBI has already presented the charge sheet in the court

It is being told that CBI has already filed a charge sheet against Bhupendra Singh Hooda in the Manesar land scam case. After framing of charges, Hooda will be tried.

Bhupendra Hooda, while being the Chief Minister, had canceled the IMT in Manesar area and issued a Section-6 notice on 25 August 2005. He had also issued a Section-9 notice for the award, fixing the amount at Rs 25 lakh per acre. It is alleged that the builders had purchased 400 acres of land from farmers at throwaway prices.

Accused of buying land from farmers at throwaway prices

It has also been claimed in the charge sheet that in 2007, when Bhupendra Hooda was the Chief Minister, the government had freed that 400 acres of land from acquisition. Due to this, farmers had suffered a loss of about Rs 1500 crore at that time.

CBI started the investigation in 2015 and in September 2018, presented an 80-page charge sheet in the court against 34 accused including Bhupendra Hooda. Now the special CBI court will hear the case while framing charges against Bhupendra Singh Hooda.

The Supreme Court had directed a CBI investigation into the Manesar land scam. The court found that the then Hooda government’s 2007 decision to cancel the acquisition process was mala fide and considered it fraudulent. The Supreme Court had directed the CBI to investigate the ill-gotten gains earned by the middlemen and to ‘recover every penny’ from the state government.

FIR has been registered in IPS Y Puran suicide case. A case of abetment to suicide has been registered. His IAS wife Amneet P Kumar had filed a complaint. Chandigarh Police said that a case has been registered against the people whose names were in the ‘final note’ of IPS. A case has also been registered under SC-ST Atrocities Act.

Y Puran Kumar was a 2001 batch IPS officer. He was found dead in his residence in Sector-11, Chandigarh on Tuesday (07 October). There were bullet marks on his body. He had reportedly committed suicide with a service revolver. Police had also found an 8-page suicide note, in which he had written the names of several senior officers and accused them of mental harassment.

On the other hand, Congress has demanded an impartial investigation into the suicide case of IPS officer Y Puran Kumar. Congress MP Rahul Gandhi alleged that the hatred and Manuwadi thinking of BJP-RSS has filled the society with poison. Congress MP Kumari Shailja said that the suicide of a Dalit IPS officer in Haryana is very sad, worrying and a matter of deep pain. He posted on the social media platform

Buying land in Haryana can be more expensive now, because the state government is going to implement the revised collector rates of property from the month of August. These rates have been put on the website of different districts of the state as a draft. Objections were sought from the public till 31 July.

What is collector rate?

Collector rate i.e. the minimum rate on which any property is recorded in the government record. According to this rate, registration fees and stamp duty are collected. If this rate increases, then buying land will become directly expensive.

Gurugram’s biggest bounce

There is a tremendous jump in the rates of land in Gurugram. In the villages, the land, just two acres from the highway, was earlier Rs 25,300 per square yard, now it is proposed to yards Rs 45,000 per square. A 25 percent increase in Carterpuri area and 19 percent in Old DLF Colony is proposed.

What is the situation in other districts?

• Rohtak: Rates will be increased from 5 to 25 percent.
• Panchkula: There is a huge increase in many sectors.
• Industrial Area: There is also a preparation to increase the rates here.

The government says that these changes are being made according to the market rates, so that there is no disturbance in the registries.

Congress opposed, Hooda’s attack

Former Chief Minister and Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda has described this decision as a direct attack on the poor and middle class. They allege that the government has increased the collector rates by 10 to 145 percent.

He said, “In Fatehabad, where the first land rate was Rs 15,000, now it has been reduced to Rs 35,000.” Hooda also accused the government that in December last year, the collector rates were huge increase, and now the rates are being increased for the second time in 8-9 months.

Chief Minister replied

Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini said that rates were increased even during the time of Congress. He claimed that new rates will not put burden on people, as they match the rates running in the market.

‘Poor and middle class will break back’

The Congress says that there was usually only 5 to 10 percent increase in the collector rate, but now different heavy rates are being installed for every street, locality and village. This will break the back of the poor and middle class and their dream of buying a house will be overcome.
