At present we are contesting the elections under the leadership of Nitish Kumar and he is leading our election campaign.

During a program, when Amit Shah was asked whether Nitish Kumar would still be the Chief Minister if BJP had more MLAs in the elections, he said, ‘We still have more MLAs, yet Nitish Kumar is the Chief Minister.’ On the question related to confidence in Nitish Kumar, the Home Minister said that Nitish is an important leader of Indian politics and his association with Congress has never been long. He told that Nitish Kumar never joined Congress and whenever he stayed with Congress, that time was not more than two and a half years. Shah said that to judge a leader, his entire political life should be seen.

‘Nitish has been anti-Congress since birth’- Shah
Referring to the political background of Nitish Kumar, Amit Shah said, ‘He basically comes from socialist ideology. He has been against Congress since childhood. He played an important role in the JP movement and fought strongly against the Congress during the Emergency. He further said, ‘I have full confidence that not only BJP but also the people of Bihar have faith in Nitish Kumar.’

After his death, Kusum Devi took the seat in the by-election. This time the party has fielded Zilla Parishad member Subhash Singh from Gopalganj.

Ticket to Maithili Thakur from Alipore
Popular folk singer Maithili Thakur has been made a candidate from Alipur seat. His name was already being discussed and now BJP has officially declared him as its candidate. This time the ticket of Gyanendra Gyanu has been canceled from Barh seat. Dr. Siyaram Singh has been made the candidate in his place.
