Union Home Minister Amit Shah is on a three-day visit to Bihar from Wednesday. Today (Friday) is his third day. During his visit, the most talked about thing is that a new state will be created by cutting some parts from Bengal and Bihar. There has been a political uproar after this claim of RJD MLA Ranvijay Sahu. According to Ranvijay Sahu, Seemanchal of Bihar and some parts of Bengal will be cut. That’s why Amit Shah has come to Bihar. With this, Mamata Banerjee and our big boat bank will be cut off. In such a situation, the question is that if this happens then which areas will be affected? What is the Hindu-Muslim population in those areas? Understand.

Three Bihar and three Bengal districts may be affected

There are three districts of Bihar and three districts of West Bengal which are contiguous. If a Union Territory is created then these 6 districts can definitely be affected by Bihar and Bengal. These mainly include three districts of West Bengal adjacent to the eastern part of Bihar – North Dinajpur, South Dinajpur and Darjeeling. These districts share borders with Kishanganj, Purnia and Katihar districts of Bihar.

Due to its geographical location, Darjeeling is adjacent to Kishanganj district of Bihar. Uttar Dinajpur is also in the north-eastern part of West Bengal. It borders Bihar. South Dinajpur also shares border with Bihar.

Now understand according to Hindu-Muslim population

Ranvijay Sahu made an allegation that Mamata Banerjee and a big boat bank of ours will be cut. Actually, he was referring to the Muslim vote, which is considered to be in majority in the eastern region of Bihar and the three districts of West Bengal. Now look at these six districts.

Kishanganj is a Muslim dominated district of Bihar, which has a population of about 68% i.e. 13 lakh Muslims and 31.43% i.e. about 6 lakh Hindus. Similarly, in North Dinajpur district of West Bengal, the number of Muslims and Hindus is almost equal. There is a population of more than 32 lakh here in which Muslims are 49.92% and Hindus are 49.31%. Christian population is 0.56%. That is to say, Muslim population is more here also.

In South Dinajpur district of West Bengal, Hindu population is 73.55% and Muslim population is 24.63%. This district is a Hindu majority area, where the Muslim population mainly resides in the rural areas, while the Hindu population is more in the urban areas. Thus, the number of Hindus is high in Darjeeling district of West Bengal, but mainly Hinduism, Buddhism and Christianity are followed.

The Muslim population in Purnia district of Bihar, set off from West Bengal, is not less. Although the number of Hindus is more. At present the population of Hindus in Purnia is 60.94% and that of Muslims is 38.46%. In Katihar district too, Muslims are around 31.43% and Hindus are 68%.
