The third cabinet meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary. A total of 20 proposals were approved in this meeting of the Council of Ministers. A decision has been taken in the cabinet on Wednesday (May 6) to change the name of the Government Medical College and Hospital located in Sitamarhi to Mata-Sita Medical College and Hospital.

Also, to make the selected urban centers of the state economically strong and productive and to develop the combined urban economic area, the state government will take assistance of 500 million dollars from the World Bank and Bihar Urban Transportation Program will be implemented. Its approval has been taken in the cabinet meeting.

Six new motor vehicles will be purchased in the financial year 2026-27 for the use of Governor and Rajpal Secretariat officials. Its approval has been received in the cabinet. The state government has given approval in the Council of Ministers to give 1.85 acres of Industrial Area (Viada) land under Patna Urban Area, adjacent to the Patna Airport Campus, which is along the road, to the Airport Authority of India.

It has been decided to give this land to the authority. The land will be used for airport infrastructure and other works. Apart from this, in the major decision taken in the meeting of the Council of Ministers, the Bihar government has extended the industrial investment incentive package for setting up industries till June 2026. The state government has given permission to Hyderabad agency to use AI voting system in municipal elections.

400 electric buses approved

Approval of Rs 52 crore has been given to protect Gangapur, Bhusaulanandpur, Damodarpur on the banks of river Ganga in Shahpur block of Bhojpur from erosion. Approval has been given to operate 400 electric buses in Muzaffarpur, Bhagalpur, Gaya, Darbhanga, Purnia. The Cabinet has extended the tenure of the Seventh State Finance Commission till September 30.

The cabinet has approved the plan for training both members of Bihar State Legislative Assembly and officers and employees of the state government in Artificial Intelligence. Approval has been sent to give land for opening of Kendriya Vidyalaya in Arwal. In view of the increasing number of cases in the state, 18 different posts have been approved in Benipur Court of Darbhanga.

Taking a major decision, the state government has now approved the decision to provide loan facilities to government servants and pensioners from state government banks and financial institutions. Approval of land has also been received for opening of Kendriya Vidyalaya in Shekhpura.
