Congress has released another list of candidates for Bihar Assembly elections. Congress has announced the names of five candidates in the third list on Saturday (October 18). The party has made Shashwat Kedar Pandey the candidate from Narkatiaganj seat. Mohammad Kamrul Hoda has been fielded from Kishanganj assembly seat.

Congress has fielded 54 candidates so far

Congress has already released two lists. The party has so far announced the names of candidates for 54 seats in Bihar. There were names of 48 candidates in the first list, while only one candidate was named in the second list. Among the candidates whose names were in the first list, party state unit chief Rajesh Ram was fielded from Kutumba seat and CLP leader Shakeel Ahmed Khan from Kadwa. The party announced the candidates even before finalizing the seat sharing arrangements with the grand alliance partners including RJD.

In 2020, Congress had fielded candidates on 70 seats.

It is noteworthy that in the 2020 Bihar Assembly elections, Congress had contested 70 seats, out of which it was able to win only 19. The Grand Alliance consists of RJD, Congress, CPI (ML), CPI and Mukesh Sahni’s Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP). Even now, consensus has not been reached on many seats among these constituent parties. In such a situation, the allies of the Grand Alliance are fighting against each other in the election field on many seats.

Assembly elections in Bihar will be held in two phases on 6th and 11th November. In the first phase, voting will be held on 121 seats, while in the second phase, voting will be held on 122 seats, while the counting of votes will be done on November 14.

Amidst the political turmoil regarding the assembly elections in Bihar, Union Minister and LJP (R) chief Chirag Paswan has had a special conversation with ABP News on many issues including seat sharing. On the question of bargaining regarding seat sharing in the assembly elections, Chirag Paswan said that if there was a bargainer, I would have crossed 35 seats.
