The election stir in Bihar is now at its peak. As the assembly elections are approaching, the state administration is taking major steps for the convenience and security of the voters. In this context, the government has decided that schools, colleges and educational institutions will remain closed in all the districts where the first phase of voting took place.

This step has been taken to make the voting process smooth and secure. The administration says that many polling stations have been set up in school and college campuses, hence keeping the institutions closed will not create any hindrance in voting and teachers and employees will also be able to participate in the democratic process.

In which districts the institutions will remain closed

In the first phase of voting, votes will be cast in 17 districts of North and South Bihar. These include Patna, Darbhanga, Madhepura, Saharsa, Muzaffarpur, Gopalganj, Siwan, Saran, Vaishali, Samastipur, Begusarai, Lakhisarai, Munger, Sheikhpura, Nalanda, Buxar and Bhojpur. Elections will be held on 121 assembly seats in these districts and voting will run from 7 am to 6 pm. The Election Commission has instructed to keep all government and private schools and colleges in these districts closed on the day of voting. This will make the system easier for voters and polling personnel.

Voting preparation and program

The nomination process for the first phase has already started. Candidates can file nomination papers till 17th October. Nomination papers will be scrutinized on 18th October and candidates will be able to withdraw their names till 20th October. The first phase of voting will take place in the last week of October. After this, the second phase of voting will be held on November 11 and the results of both the phases will be declared on November 14.

Areas included in the first phase

The assembly constituencies where voting will be held in the first phase include many major seats including Alamnagar, Bihariganj, Singheshwar, Madhepura, Saharsa, Kusheshwarsthan, Darbhanga Rural, Benipur, Jale, Muzaffarpur, Kanti, Gopalganj, Siwan, Vaishali, Samastipur, Begusarai, Munger, Nalanda, Patna Sahib, Fatuha, Danapur, Arrah, Buxar. The election atmosphere is gradually heating up in all these areas. Voter awareness campaigns are also being run continuously so that more and more people take part in voting.

strict security arrangements

The Election Commission has announced tight security arrangements for the first phase of voting. About 8.5 lakh officers and employees will be on election duty across the state. These will include 4.5 lakh polling personnel, 2.5 lakh policemen, 28 thousand vote counting employees and 18 thousand micro observers. The Election Commission has clarified that security forces will be deployed at all polling stations so that voting can be completed peacefully and fairly.

Bihar Election 2025: The dates of Bihar assembly elections will be announced today. The election schedule will be released by the Chief Election Commissioner at 4 pm and with this, the code of conduct will also be implemented in the state. In such a situation, the eyes of all political parties are on the election dates. The commission has already made it clear that the elections will end before 22 November 2025 as the tenure of the current assembly is ending on this day.
In the Bihar assembly elections, there can be a direct contest between many veterans, but do you know that even a common man can contest elections. The Constitution of India empowers every citizen to contest elections, however, some conditions have to be fulfilled for this. Come, let us know how much fees are spent to contest Bihar assembly elections and how to nominate.

How much fees are there to contest Bihar assembly elections?

Very few people know that fees have to be paid to contest elections, which is called security deposit. These fees have to be deposited at the time of filing nomination. If the candidate is from the general category, then he has to give 10,000. At the same time, if the candidate comes from the Scheduled Castes or Scheduled Tribes, then he has to pay 5,000 fees. This rule has been implemented under the Representation of the Public Representation Act of 1951. If the candidate gets very few votes in the election, then this security fee is confiscated. However, if the candidate gets full votes, then this fee can also be returned.

How can you also enroll

When the official announcement of the election is made, then the process of filing nomination begins. Under this, the candidate has to fill a nomination form. It is necessary to give name, address, date of birth, education information, property and if there is a criminal case, then it is necessary to give information about it. On the other hand, if you are contesting from a party, then only a proposer is needed. If you are an independent candidate, then you need at least 10 proposals, which should be voters of the same assembly constituency. After the nomination form is filed, the returning officer examines all his documents. If all the information is correct, the nomination is accepted.
