Preparations for Bihar assembly elections 2025 have now reached the final stage. In this sequence, the final voter list will be released by the Election Commission after 2 pm today (30 September). According to sources, this time about 70 to 72 lakh names can be removed from the list.

In the draft voter list released by the Election Commission earlier, about 65 lakh names were expected to be removed. But in the final voter list, this number is expected to increase from 70 to 72 lakhs. Officials say that this process is being done to make the voter list more accurate and transparent. This voter list can be released on the Bihar Election Commission website.

7.35 crore voters can stay in the final list

According to the estimate of the Commission, the names of about 7 crore 35 lakh voters will be recorded in the final voter list. However, this number can change by a margin of +3 lakhs. It is believed that along with the removal of the name, the name of new voters has also been added to the list, so that no eligible citizen is deprived of the right to vote.

Commission emphasized transparency and accuracy

The Election Commission has focused on removing the names of dead voters, duplicate entries and transferred citizens in this amendment of the voter list. Along with this, the entries of those who have recently entered the name by applying online or offline have also been included in the final list.

The Commission has clarified that it will be made public in all the districts after the final voter list comes. Voters can investigate their names by visiting the Election Commission website or local election office. If the name of a citizen has been mistaken, then he will have the option to apply to register it again.

38 districts 243 assembly constituency and 90712 polling stations
This time special intensive revision covers 38 districts of Bihar, 243 assembly constituencies and 90,712 polling stations. Political parties have also been given a copy of the voter list and the list of voters who were in the list of June 24, but are not included in the new draft. This will ensure that no eligible voter accidentally remains out of the list.

Bla and Blo’s active role
The Election Commission said that 1.6 lakh booth level agents (BLA) of 12 major political parties took active participation in this process. Also, booth level officers (BLO) have been entrusted with the responsibility of submitting new photos from voters by 1 September 2025.

Bihar Voter List: In the midst of the ongoing voter list verification process in Bihar, the names of 35 lakh voters can be cut, this information has come out from the Election Commission sources. However, this information is not true, because they also include the names of all such voters, which were not found at their address during BLO examination.

Of these, about 12.55 lakh such voters who have died, about 17.37 lakh voters who have shifted outside Bihar, are about 5.76 lakh voters, who have got voter ID cards at two places.

Exercise to save from fake voting

According to Election Commission sources, it is not to cut the vote, but to save (about 35 lakh) from fake voting. If someone casts votes using these voter ID cards, then it will come in the category of fake voting. In such a situation, even if action is taken against these 35 lakh voters in the coming time, then it is not because he is not a citizen of the country.

Information about cut names will also be done

According to the Election Commission, the voter of B.L.O. If they have not met at their address even after three tours, they may have died or have permanently shifted or are nominated in more than one place. Soon about 35 lakh such voters will also be shared with the district presidents of political parties with the district presidents/1.5 lakh booth level agents appointed by them so that the correct situation of such voters can be confirmed before July 25 (last date to fill the form).

In a way, the discussion of cutting the names of 35 lakh people whose names are going on, will hand over the responsibility of gathering information to BLA on behalf of the political party. Later, the opposition parties could not raise the question that the name of a voter was incorrectly cut off.

According to the official data of the Election Commission amidst all this, 88.65% people have filled the form in Bihar voter list verification process till 6 pm on 16 June. Also, about 4.5 percent of such voters have also been, who have not been found at their address. In this context, now only 6.85 percent i.e. about 54 lakh voters are yet to be filled.

The updation and verification of voter list in Bihar is now in the final stages. Out of a total of 7.89 crore voters of the state till 6 pm on 16 June, 6,99,92,926 has given its calculation form for the draft voter list to be published on 1 August 2025.

Aadhaar just an identity

Election Commission sources have again made it clear that Aadhaar is just an identity card, it does not determine the citizenship of the country. Because of this, Aadhaar is being taken with the form, but on the basis of that the name cannot come in the voter list. The matter of the voter ID card is being filled, the number of voter ID card and the identity of the voter have also been given on it, so that no one person can fill the form of one person.

The Election Commission has been continuously saying from the beginning of this process that this entire process is being done under Article 326 of the Constitution, in which it is clearly stated that the voter of the country can be the person who is a citizen of the country. In such a situation, according to the constitution, no person can be put in the voter list, who is not a citizen of the country.

Bihar Voter List Update 2025: The process of submitting voter counting form (EF) has reached the final stage under the ongoing special brief revision (SIR) campaign in Bihar. Now only 11 days are left in the last date. Meanwhile, after two rounds of investigation by the BLO, out of the total 7,89,69,844 voters of the state, 6,60,67,208 or 83.66% of the voters have been collected from EFs.

According to the state election office, 1.59% of the voters have been found dead in the investigation so far, while 2.2% of the voters have permanently shifted to another place. Apart from this, 0.73% of the voters have been found, whose name was recorded in more than one place. In this way, total 4.52% names are in a position to be removed from the voter list.

88.18% of voters’ status cleaned

According to the current situation, the status of a total of 88.18% of the voters has become clear either they have submitted their forms or their names remain in one place or they have been permanently transferred. Now only 11.82% of the voters are such that the filled EF forms are yet to be submitted. Of these, a large number of voters have expressed their desire to submit the form with documents in the coming days. The Election Commission has appealed to the remaining voters to submit the EF form with their documents within the stipulated time so that their information can be updated and the voter list can be made more transparent and erroneous.

Tejashwi Yadav targeted

The opposition has strongly criticized this process of SIR. RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav has warned that if only 1% of the voters are removed from each assembly constituency, on an average, about 3,200 voters can be removed on each seat.
Now that this figure has exceeded 5%, the opposition fears that it may have a direct impact on the election results.

Case under Supreme Court supervision

The case related to the SIR process is currently under the supervision of the Supreme Court. In the last hearing, the court had directed the Election Commission to ensure the identity of the voter on the basis of valid documents like Aadhaar card, ration card and voter ID card. The next hearing of the case is scheduled on 28 July.
